Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for $50 million over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she claimed to be a domestic abuse survivor. Heard, however, did not name Depp by name, but the circumstances were too obvious.

This statement of Amber Heard led to a rocky road for Johnny Depp in his professional life; he lost Pirates of the Caribbean Sea and multiple brands he was the ambassador for. As a result, he sued Amber Heard, to which she countersued him for $100 million.

In her testimony, she now accused Johnny Depp of ruining her career in Hollywood after filing for a restraining order against him in 2016. Heard also claimed that she is in deep doubt about her role as Mera in Aquaman after filing a restraining order.

While both sides are fighting a literal battle against each other, Johnny and Amber continue to testify against each other. During cross-questioning by Depp’s Lawyer Camille Vazquez, Amber Heard was asked if she agreed to the statement that Depp got her that role in Aquaman. She responded defensively, saying, “no, Miss Vazquez, I got myself that role by auditioning.”

According to sources, the trial is in its final week, and it is being live-streamed on YouTube. While the trial itself is very gripping, fans across the globe are sitting on the edge of their seats in curiosity to know the final judgment. It will be a mystery to know what happens to Mera’s role in Aquaman 2 and the contract. For now, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will release on March 17th, 2023.
