An ordinary salaryman whose life changes when he is reincarnated into a fantasy world with females groping for attention is usually the premise of such a series.
Summer 2018 was privy to one such series as the anime adaption of Hiro Ainana s’ light novel Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody hit the small screen.
The story follows Suzuki Ichirou, who works as a programmer and is worn out by handling two projects during the holiday.
He is tasked to fix several bugs in two MMORPGs games as the junior programmer is off from work.
While correcting the bugs, Suzuki dozes off and, upon waking up, finds himself in a mysterious parallel world that resembles an RPG game that he worked on as a teenager called Satou.
Before Satou can come to the grip of the sudden changes, he is attacked by a lizardman army. To face the ambush, Satou casts all three of his special Meteor Rain attack, which wipes the lizardmen s’ army.
However, this desperate attack causes his level to boost from 1 to 310 and maximize all the stats, thus making him one of the strongest people in this world.
Although Satou is now a high-levelled adventure with all the magical abilities and weapons, he still got no way to return to his world.
Accepting his fate, Satou embarks on a magical adventure meeting new people, making friends, and uncovering the secrets of this new world while concealing his overpowered stats.
Death March season one was received with mixed reviews and ratings as it failed to break out of the cliché overpowering main character trope.
Meanwhile, some fans enjoyed the isekai series as they found it relaxing and entertaining aspects.

Production studios consider various financial and consumer metrics before announcing a renewal.
As mentioned earlier, Death March season one failed to impress the critics as the series was behind other popular anime like Violet Evergarden, Darling in the FranXX, The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments, and Overlord.

Financially, the light novel could not find the boost in the first half of 2018 as The series was only the 10th best-selling light novel series in Japan with 211,393 copies sold.
Death March Blu-Ray/DVD Sales also failed to sell in large numbers, which, to be fair, could be the growth of online streaming platforms like Crunchyroll.
Furthermore, the availability of a studio is always a crucial factor wherein Studio Silver Link clearly moved on to newer projects instead of producing a sequel.
Safe to say, while there isn’t any official confirmation from the creators, it’s highly unlikely that a second season will be on the cards any time soon.
Silver Link s’ production schedule for 2023 looks occupied with seven new projects already announced, while 2024 will begin with the premiere of Mission: Yozakura Family.
However, the only chance of renewal can be accredited to the fact that season one finished on a cliffhanger, and there is plenty of source material available to produce a sequel.
So, if studio Silver does revisit the series, we can expect the Death March season 2 trailer and Death March season 2 release date to premiere in early 2024.

DEATH MARCH SEASON 2 PLOT
In the finale of Death March season one, “A Trip to the Underworld That Started With a Death March,” we learn how Satou was transported to this alternate world through the magic of the Dragon God and the Young Goddess.
Death March season one covered the first three volumes, which means Death March season 2 will begin by adapting Volume 4.
The sequel will start off a new adventure in the Muno Barony, which is dangerous to travellers due to the assassination of King Zen.
The peasants have no proper living space, while the nobles are scrapping for whatever is available.
Baron Leon Muno takes charge of the ungoverned land as its leader, while Leon helps people unravel a conspiracy surrounding the demon lord.
Satou must also deal with Leon’s beautiful daughter, Lady Karina Muno. The 19-year-old woman is a level 50 master of the Raka, a magical tool that appears to be just a tiara, bracelets, and anklets to the naked eye.

CONCLUSION
