Konosuba Season 3: Release Date Confirmed
The anime project of Konosuba Season 3 is officially confirmed, which has given the fans a big relief.
The Konosuba series is a popular light novel series from Japan that was written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The Konosuba series was initially released as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, a Japanese web novel platform, from December 2012 to October 2013.
Kadokawa Shoten has also published the printed novels of Konosuba with the company Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko from October 2013 to May 2020.
The Japanese series focuses on a character named Kazuma Satou, who is a boy sent to a fantasy world.
The main character of the Konosuba series dies a rather comical death and finds himself face-to-face with a beautiful goddess named Aqua. She presents him with two options to choose from.
One option was to go into heaven, and the other was to live every gamer’s dream by entering a fantasy world. Kazuma chose the second option, and when he entered the fictional world, it was like a game. Kazuma opted for a new life and quickly defeated the Demon King, who was terrorizing the villages.
In the fictional world, Kazuma had to go on many quests with the Aqua goddess, a magician named Megumin, and a knight named Darkness along his side.
The anime adaptation of Japanese light novels, Konosuba, happened with the help of Studio Deen, which was directed by Takaomi Kanasaki. The Konosuba series has been adapted into two successful anime seasons so far. Fans of the series are eagerly waiting for the next season to be released.
The Konosuba Season 1 was released in Japan with ten episodes plus an OVA episode from January 2016 to March 2016.
The Konosuba Season 2 contained ten episodes plus an OVA, which aired from January 2017 to March 2017. It was also licensed to be broadcasted on Crunchyroll and AnimeLab.
That’s right! In addition to the anime adaptation, a movie called ‘KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson’ was also released.
It came out in August 2019 and is based on the first four volumes of Konosuba light novels. The film was produced by J.C. Staff and directed by Kanyasaki Takaomi.

Konosuba Season 3: Manga & Light Novels
The Konosuba anime series is also known as ‘Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!’ in Japanese. It is based on the light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The light novels received a lot of love from the readers, and its anime adaptation resulted in a big amount of profit.
To date, there are 17 volumes released of Konosuba light novels, and it also has four spin-off light novels and one manga adaptation. Unfortunately, the light novels ended with its last volume, 17, in May 2020; since then, nothing has been released.
The Konosuba anime adaptation, when released in its first season, covered 1st and 2nd volumes of the light novels. The Konosuba Season 2 entailed volumes 3 & 4, and the next, Konosuba Season 3, will probably continue from the events of volume 5.
Similarly, like season 1 and season 2, Konosuba Season 3 would probably release ten episodes which will be enough to include the content of two volumes.
It will be surprising if they adapt three volumes in one season. But if they continue using the same strategy, two volumes per season, it would take ten years to finish the light novels.

There has not been any official word of Konosuba Season 3 release date, but it would probably be released next year, winter 2024.
When a new season of anime is confirmed, it takes around 12 to 18 months of time span to complete all the processes and make it ready to be released. However, the director of Konosuba Season 3, Takaomi Kanasaki, is currently working on Princess Connect! Re-Drive Season 2. This would be the main reason why Konosuba Season 3 won’t be releasing in this year but in 2023.
