Marvel Starfox, Thanos’s Brother: Why Does He Looks Human, Not Purple or Giant?
Eros, aka Starfox, is Thanos, Mad Titan’s brother, but he doesn’t look anything like him, despite being Eternals.
A new narrative of Marvels was released in November 2021 named Eternals. This premiere is the 26th movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A new team of superheroes is introduced in MCU who call themselves Eternals with the new narrative. In this premiere, the Eternals fight with ancient aliens and the most ancient enemy of humankind, the Deviants.
The powerful and popular enemy shown before the Eternals was Thanos, the Mad Titan, who got enough power to wipe out half of the population of Earth and some other planets. In the new storyline, Thanos’ brother has become the enemy fighting with Eternals. Eros named Starkfox is known as the brother of Thanos, but he looks nothing like him.
The Eternals are a team of immortals who are cosmic beings. They’ve been around for thousands of years in the Marvel Universe but didn’t interfere with any events of Avengers, even in the Avengers: Endgame when Thanos was a big threat.
A debate had been going on since the revision of Thanos into Eternals many years ago. There was some link between Eternals and Thanos’ origin. In Marvel Comics, Thanos and Starfox first appeared in the year 1973. However, they weren’t introduced as Eternals, but their stories are from Greek mythology, which is the reason they both have resembling names – Thanos and Eros.
Later, with the revision of Thanos into Enternals, a few decades ago, their parents were revealed as A’lars and Sui-San. But Thanos required some additional changes to justify why he and Eros, aka Starfox, looked different from each other.
Eternals: Starfox Marvel
The new storyline has been introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Eternals’ story of origin is quite complicated. The origin states that there are only two species of humans – Eternals and Deviants, which also mentions that both the species were present on Earth as well as on Titan (the home planet of Thanos and Starfox).
The confusion is in the part where Thanos, not being a Deviant, is affected by the Deviant Syndrome because of which he looks purple and a giant. Thanos is not Deviant, but an Eternal just like his brother Eros; Starfox only has one difference between both the brothers: Eros doesn’t possess the mutation like Thanos. The reason why Starfox looks more like Eternals and not Thanos’ brother.
Eternals and Thanos’ brother Starfox looks like because all of them are off-shoots of Homo-sapiens. However, Thanos, on the other hand, was affected by the Deviant Syndrome, which transformed his body into a giant and gave him a purple look. The Syndrome gave Thanos something like Deviants and Deviants Skrulls.
Eternal and Eros, Starfox in MCU have human looks but have different superpowers and cosmic beauty. Thanos and Eros, Starfox looks different but share the same bloodline and abilities, which is the reason why Thanos was very strong and almost impossible to defeat in the Avengers: Infinity War and in Avengers: Endgame.
One character from the Marvel Comics and Eternal being named Phastos confirmed that Thanos is definitely an Eternal being, which resolves the debate and the confusion. Among other details, one link between Thanos, Starfox, and Eternals is that they are the first cousins of Thena, the daughter of Zuras, A’lars’ brother. The conversation between all the cousins will be interesting if played out on screen as Angelina Jolie will be playing the role of Thena in Eternals movie.
