More often than not, animes are adapted from source material constituting either manga or a light novel, which in turn is bought to the big screen to boost its sales.
While mangas and light novels are still the origins of most animes, studios stray from this pattern and experiment by creating their original series.
Some of the most popular animes have been original productions that feature Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Code Geass, Death Parade, and many more.
Original anime series have their perks when it comes to watching them, as one cannot be spoilt due to a lack of source material and maintains the spoiler-free experience throughout the series run.
Furthermore, such series are made with no restraints and creative control, which a director doesn’t get while adapting from a manga or light novel.
October 2022 saw the premier of one such series titled Shinobi no Ittoki by studio TROYCA and DMM pictures which certainly has created a buzz in the anime community considering how rare original anime series are in recent times.
As of writing, the show is currently on air, but fans have already begun wondering whether a second season will be possible.

WHAT IS THE RENEWAL STATUS OF SHINOBI NO ITTOKI SEASON 2?
Shinobi no Ittoki Season one premiered on 4th October 2022, and six out of the listed 12 episodes have been released as of writing.
Currently, there is no update from Troyca and DMM pictures on the renewal of Shinobi no Ittoki Season 2.

Despite the lack of Shinobi no Ittoki manga and since the show is an original series, creators would look at the financial success alongside other consumer metrics before considering a renewal.
Notably, international streaming numbers and revenue alongside Blu-ray/DVD sales will be a deciding factor for studios before the series is greenlit for production.
Speaking of studios, Troyca studios pick up anime series on a contract basis and have created projects like The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note, Bloom into You, Idolish7, Re: CREATORS.
Since studio Troyca isn’t one of the bigger production houses and runs on booking, it can only manage one project a year. Consequently, Shinobi no Ittoki Season one was this year’s release but has the following year’s slot been booked?
Unfortunately, for 2023 Troyca has already announced the anime adaption of the visual novel game Atri: My Dear Moments, which will mean Shinobi no Ittoki Season 2 will not happen anytime soon. Furthermore, Troyca studios aren’t necessarily known for sequels, with only Idolish7 getting a second installment.
Considering all these points, unless Shinobi no Ittoki Season one is a massive success towards its second half, it looks unlikely Shinobi no Ittoki will be renewed for season two.
However, if another studio picks up the series from Troyca in that case, we can expect Shinobi no Ittoki Season 2 trailer announcing a renewal and Shinobi no Ittoki Season 2 release date to be in 2024.
SHINOBI NO ITTOKI PLOT
The main character seems to be a mama boy, but actually, he is a descendant of a distinguished family in Japan. On his first day of school, a beautiful girl confesses her love to him.
When he is having a date with the girl for the first time, he is taken to the girl’s house. However, he is attacked by her. Everything is related to his identity as a descendant of a distinguished family.
Our main character, Ittoki, is a junior high school student in Grade 3. Unlike normal students, he is followed and watched by his childhood sweetheart, Kosetsu, every day sent by Ittoki’s mother.
Ittoki feels resigned to it, thinking it is because his mother cares so much for him. One day, on his way to the cram school, Ittoki thinks of what the teacher said. The teacher can tell Ittoki’s talent for gymnastics, hoping Ittoki can formally join the Gymnastics Club to learn gymnastics in high school.
Ittoki finds he is almost late for the cram school, so he moves faster. However, he meets a truck losing control on a descent. Luckily, he jumps high to dodge the truck with his agility, which a red-haired girl sees at a short distance.
Then, Ittoki finds a love letter in his school locker. When he arrives at the appointed place, he finds a cute girl who appeared near the car accident. The girl, Satomi, claims she has been paying attention to Ittoki secretly and loves him from afar.
After that, she asks Ittoki to go out with her. When Ittoki returns home, he is still excited about what happened. Is there a boy not eager to date a cute and beautiful girl?
Seeing Ittoki’s expression on his face and Ittoki’s mother, Yuka quickly knows he has a girlfriend. Yuka is a shop manager in the service area nearby.
Hearing that Ittoki’s girlfriend is a girl Ittoki didn’t know before, Yuka becomes alert, asking Ittoki to stay away from this girl again and again.
Though angry, he doesn’t take it seriously as he thinks his mother is conventional in her views.
After Ittoki is escorted to safety, his mother reveals the truth: he is the 19th heir to a noble clan of ninjas known as the Iga and the target of an assassination by their rival clan, the Koga.
In order to protect himself against this new threat, Ittoki must hone his skills at the only ninja academy remaining in Japan: the Kokuten Ninja Academy.

Shinobi no Ittoki anime is directed by Shuu Watanabe and scripted by Minato Takano. Characters are designed by Isamu Suzuki, and the music is composed by Tomosiro. Props are made by Kazutaka, and Atsushi Okuda is the chief animator.

CONCLUSION
Shinobi no Ittoki Season 2 is neither renewed nor cancelled, but early signs aren’t favorable for the series to get a second season.
