Musical animes coupled with a slice of life have recently grown in popularity.
One can witness a variety of representations of musical forms, be it solo or group, form an interesting backdrop to the main plot line.
During the Spring 2015 season, an anime adaptation of Ayano Takeda’s novel series Sound! Euphonium was produced and broadcasted. This particular series was included in the slate of new releases for that season.
The narrative revolves around the Concert Band Club of Kitauji High School, which had previously attained a championship-level status and actively participated in national tournaments.
However, after the club s’ adviser changed, the band has not been the same and has failed to qualify for the tournament.
It is currently not feasible for the band to participate in the upcoming local festival, Sunfest, and subsequently, they will not be able to compete at a national level.
The main protagonist, Kumiko, is a first-year high school student who is indecisive and awkward.
The individual in question has a tendency to inadvertently vocalize their thoughts, and in addition, they frequently question their own decisions, even regarding matters as trivial as ice cream flavors.
Kumiko tends to maintain a low profile and refrain from drawing attention to herself. She prefers to avoid conflicts whenever possible and is quite obliging when it comes to accepting whatever comes her way.
The individual in question possesses the skill of playing the euphonium. Despite expressing a desire to embark on a new journey, peer influence leads her to join the school’s band club, and she finds herself once again playing the euphonium.
The band s’ fortunes change when a new advisor named Noru Taki is appointed, who gives them two choices, i.e., train hard for the nationals or relax and have fun.
Will the Kitauji High School Concert Band Club regain its former glory, and how will Kumiko s’ get along with new bandmates as she rediscovers her passion for the euphonium is the central plot of the show.

WHAT IS THE SOUND! EUPHONIUM SEASON 3 RELEASE DATE?
Sound! Euphonium Season One aired from 8th April 2015 to 1st July 2015 for 12 episodes.
The series was renewed for a second season which ran from 6th October 2016 to 28th December 2016 for 13 episodes.
On 4th August 2023, the anime s’ official website announced the renewal of Sound! Euphonium Season 3 and confirmed the Sound! Euphonium Season 3 release date is April 2024.

HIBIKE! EUPHONIUM NOVEL AND MANGA CATCHUP
The novel “Hibike! Euphonium” is the creation of Ayano Takeda and illustrated by Nikki Asada. It was published by Takarajimasha on 5th December 2013.
The novel has been compiled into 12 volumes, with the latest issue released on 22nd June 2019.
As of April 2018, Sound! Euphonium novel series has sold 1.4 million in print.

The manga series “Hibike! Euphonium” is authored by Ayano Takeda and illustrated by Hami. Its serialization commenced on April 3, 2015, in Takarajimasha.
The second novel was then adapted into a manga, with its first volume being released on September 8, 2016.
SOUND! EUPHONIUM SEASON 3 PLOT
In the concluding installment of Sound! Euphonium Season 2, titled “Early Spring Epilogue,” the third-year students retire from participation in the competition, with the appointment of Yuuko as the new president and Natsuki as her vice-president.
As a part of the pre-graduation ritual, a club organizes a farewell party for the third-year students. During the event, the third-year students showcase their musical talents by playing a piece for their juniors.
In turn, the second and first-year students respectfully express their gratitude towards their seniors by playing the “Crescent Moon Dance”.
Kumiko expressed her feelings towards Asuka during their reunion on graduation day. She revealed that despite initially feeling confused and disliking Asuka, she has developed a fondness for her and now loves her.
Asuka presents Kumiko with the musical composition that her father created, which Kumiko had performed numerous times throughout the series “Sound! Euphonium”.
It is noteworthy that the second season of Sound! Euphonium has provided coverage until the tenth volume of the light novel. It is of importance to mention that the third season of the show will commence by adapting the eleventh volume of the novel, which goes by the title of The Kitauji Concert Band’s Decisive Final Movement.
The upcoming novels are set to chronicle the final year of Kumiko Ōmae, the main character, during her time in high school.
The band once again focuses on getting gold at Nationals. Kumiko is the new band president, with her ex-boyfriend Shuuichi Tsukamoto as vice president and Reina Kousaka as the drum major.
As with the previous year, new first-years enter the band with their own quirks, chief among them being Maya Kuroe, a euphonium player from Seira Girls School.
Maya is a formidable presence in the school competition circuit and Sapphire’s former school.
