The Witcher S3 Casting Can Lead To Big GOT Risk
The Witcher S3 is under development, and for the characters, they’ve included King Radovid, who is morally ambitious, which is linked to the similar plotline of GOT.
As the Witcher universe is expanding, the fans are getting excited about the upcoming projects. The Witcher series is based on short stories and novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski. The novel dominantly revolves around the character, Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher who is struggling to find his place in the world full of beasts.
Along with Geralt, there are other two characters which take share the spotlight, Yennefer of Vengerberg, the most powerful mage on the Continent, whose relationship with Geralt is mostly loving or sexual, including some ups and downs; and Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Ciri, a child with Elder Blood whose whole family was shown dead (but later revealed her father is alive) and is destined to meet Geralt.
The Witcher Season 1, released in December 2019, fulfilled the purpose of introducing the character of Witcher to the whole world. It was criticized a lot because of its chaotic timeline but praised by the novel readers. The Witcher Season 2, released in December 2021, a long wait because of the global pandemic, was appreciated a lot. The Witcher S2 not only solved the chaotic timeline issue and included more thrilling action with the revelation of the biggest villains of the Witcher World. The Witcher series was included under the top 10 ‘most-viewed’ list on Netflix, as the rating on popular websites like IMDB was given more than 90 per cent.
The Witcher S2 has an exciting ending, as the earlier told dead father of Ciri is revealed to be alive and one of the biggest villains of Witcher World, Emhyr Var Emeris, The White Flame. The end indicates the whole of the Witcher Continent is coming after Ciri, and the three leading characters, Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer, are going to start a journey together. The fans are waiting for the next one, Witcher S3.
Witcher S3 New Cast: Game of Thrones Link
The Witcher Season 3 has included a new character in the Witcher family, King Radovid V “The Stern”, who is a tactical genius and a ruthless leader. The Game of Thrones character, Stannis Baratheon, is very much like Radovid, filled with the feeling of revenge to avenge his family members.
Both the characters rule with an iron fist alongside inspiring others with loyalty. Both of them commit war crimes and terrible acts against both their subjects and enemies. The character, Stannis, in GOT, was killed earlier in the series than in the books because of two major reasons. One of which was because of his increasing evil religion leading that could lead to the killing of his own daughter. The second reason was the lack of novel material after Bolton’s battle.
The personality of the character, Stannis Baratheon, from an admirable leader to evil religious, was an extremely difficult plotline and wasn’t very much liked by the audience later. Such kinds of characters’ narratives become difficult to watch. Many of the fans of The Witcher are wondering whether the next season, Witcher Season 3, is going to repeat the same mistake by making the character King Radovid so similar.
The decision to include King Radovid’s character has sparked a controversy, and fans are thinking it might be better if he was left out. However, the showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, is arguing in favour of this character, stating that it could work, and they have considered the example of GOT while keeping him in Witcher S3.
Nonetheless, all the theories will come to an end at the time of the Witcher S3 release. Until then, share your views on the future possibilities of King Radovid’s arc in Witcher Universe and how it might impact the narrative.
