The Witcher: What Is Expected To Be in Witcher Season 3?
The filming of Witcher Season 3 has started, and the level of excitement is increasing day by day in the hearts of fans. Here’s what the viewers are expecting to see in it.
The Witcher Series has become a big hit on Netflix, and the fans are getting excited with the new updates coming about its season 3 daily. The Witcher Series is an English version of some Polish novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski, which already has a huge fan base. On the basis of Witcher books, many things have started, like the Witcher video games, card games, series, and many spin-offs.
The Witcher Season 1 was introduced in 2019, which gave a baseline about the story and about the characters. Although the timeline jumps were confusing a lot, that mistake was covered in the Witcher Season 2, as it included an organized timeline. The main characters in the series are Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher, played by Henry Cavill; Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful sorcerer, played by Anya Chalotra; and Princess Cirilla of Cintra, a Child, played by Freya Allan.
The one thing Henry Cavill does is keep updating his social media, through which fans feel a lot of connection between the Witcher, Henry Cavill, and themselves. Most of the posts of Henry Cavill are of his exercise routine, which can be very difficult as he has been the Man of Steel for the whole world and maintains it daily.
In Henry Cavill’s recent stories, he was witnessed doing his daily workout in the mountains. He has been updating his end-of-morning cardio routine in locations like a deep forest. And after a few weeks, Netflix has shared a picture of all three of them, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Henry Cavill, sitting with their costumes on. Along with that, a small official synopsis has been shared about the storyline the Witcher Season 3 will include, which was an official announcement of the commencing of production for next season.
Big Hopes for Witcher Season 3
The fictional world of Witcher, on the Continent, has brought back the lost love between Geralt and Yennefer, along with joining the three of them together, a new journey would start running from the forces of evil. The Witcher Season 2 ended with Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer coming together after fighting with the biggest villain, Voleth Meir, and starting their journey to Aretuza. During the fight between Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer with Voleth Meir, the hometown of Geralt, Kaer Morhen, was nearly destroyed. And another reveal at the end was that The White Flame, one of the biggest villains in the Witcher world, is none other than Ciri’s father, Emhyr Var Emreis.
The official synopsis released by Netflix states, “As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line—or risk losing each other forever.”
The showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, shared her feelings to TechRadar about how excited she was for the Witcher Season 3. Although she didn’t share any details about what was in it, she talked about her emotions openly. The showrunner is setting big hopes for the Witcher Season 3, as she said, ‘I feel like seasons 1 and 2 have been laying the playing field for everything huge that’s about to happen.’ And the producer of The Witcher Series, Steve Gaud, added, ‘We definitely won’t be going smaller in season 3.’
For Those Who Can’t Wait For Witcher Season 3
One can’t imagine, with the increasing level of excitement for the Witcher Season 3, the patience audience is keeping for its release. Unfortunately, Witcher Season 3 release date hasn’t been officially declared yet. It’s likely that it won’t be released until 2023. However, the Witcher franchise is releasing a six-part mini-series, a spin-off named The Witcher: Blood Origin, this year for those who can’t wait.
The Witcher: Blood Origin is said to be different, and the people who are working on it shared that it will ‘surprise’ the audience. The showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, said, ‘it can’t just be another branch of our medieval fantasy,’ indicating that it would go in a different direction. The spin-off series will cover the timeline 1,200 years before The Witcher takes place. As the name suggests, it will cover the origin of everything before the Conjunction of Spheres. The audience will witness a new look at the Witcher world, as no humans were born in that timeline.
And for the Witcher Season 3, a bar has been set so high by the cast and crew and the fans. The showrunner is confident about Witcher Season 3 and says, “but the creative process is now really just starting. We have the scripts, and now we’ll bring directors on, the actors back in, and really start delving in deeper and reflecting back and making sure that it’s the perfect season.” Before any other news, we all can focus on Henry Cavill’s stories of his cardio in the woods.
