The story follows the silver hair Alto Goldfield aspiring to be a magician, and his diligence has resulted in top academic grades in his class. But during the summoning exam, he fails to cast the summoning spell and faces the danger of being held back and failing.
Alto scores an old spell book and performs the summoning spell from it, and unbeknownst he summons a demon girl called Vermeil. The lustful Vermeil forms a contract out of gratitude and seals it with a kiss to Alto.
Vermeil is powerful and can assist Alto with his graduation, but it comes at a cost. Every time Vermeil uses her magic, she needs to be replenished, and the only way is through a mana-draining kiss which Alto has to oblige.
Unfortunately for Alto, her childhood friend and his secret lover Lillia Kudelfeyt is agnostic about such acts and hates Vermeil.

If the first season did end in Chapter 18 of the manga, we would have seen the student council deciding to bring back Alto and Vermeil. However, Alto is shocked to learn that their plan involves taking a dip in the pool with bathing suits at a resort.
Alto finally confesses her affection for Vermeil as the demon girl blushes over his compliments. The once lustful Vermeil has a massive change in behavior as she appears shyer.
Cutting back to the bathing suit dilemma, Alto gets asked by Vermeil if her suit looks good or not.
The second season will introduce Lt. General Leonardo, who knows the truth about Vermeil and offers to keep her secret if she lends her service to the military.
Vermeil obliges, and her first mission will be infiltrating the religious state of Antrea to retrieve back a demon they hold.
