Eternals Trailer hints They Met Captain America During The First Avenger AKA Steve Rogers
The recently released Eternals trailer hints that the immortal beings may have encountered the old Captain America aka Steve Rogers during the incidents of Captain America: the first avenger. A few days ago Marvel released the first trailer for their upcoming phase 4 movie, Eternals. They are supposedly one of the most powerful squads in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, given that they are immortal beings who have been secretly living on Earth for thousands of years acting as guides for humans and mankind.
Eternals trailer implies that the immortals influences human history
The Eternals trailer indicated that since these immortal beings arrived on Earth they have a huge hand in impacting Marvel Cinematic Universe’s human history. According to the Eternals trailer, they arrived on Earth in ancient Mesopotamia, also known as the Cradle of Civilisation. The squad then encouraged the Neolithic Revolution or the first-ever agricultural revolution.
The trailer features the Eternals standing in front of the walls of Babylon which was precisely redesigned to demonstrate an Eternal influence at that time. Also, the Eternals trailer shows other ancient antiques and heirlooms which directs towards their involvement with the Roman Empire, ancient Egypt, the Aztec empire and Camelot.
When did the Eternals meet the old Captain America aka Steve Rogers?
Even though the Eternals states they have not intervened in human affairs, it looks like that they are misleading themselves. Not only the Eternals trailer indicates that they were active in the 20th century, it subtly hints that they may have met Steve Rogers aka the old Captain America.
You might have seen in the final scene of the Eternals trailer, the squad discussing who should lead The Avengers now as Iron man and Captain Rogers both are gone. Clearly, they used the term Captain Rogers to refer to the old Captain America aka Steve Rogers and the way they spoke about Captain Rogers, it felt that they were almost familiar with him which leads fans to wonder that they may have met Captain America, the very first avenger.
Why does Kingo have Old Captain America’s shield?
In another sequence of the trailer, it features what appears to be a private jet belonging to Kingo and he has a souvenir of old Captain America in the 20th century, the original shield of Steve Rogers. The featured shield is the one that old captain America used when he was on a tour to motivate citizens to buy war bonds during the events of World War 2.
Eternals Trailer suggests the immortal aliens may have been involved in WW2
Despite what the Eternals say they have been involved in many key events of human development whether it was social or technological. Therefore, it appears pretty inconvincible that they wouldn’t interfere in World War 2 which even in the actual world saw technology and science boost at a ground-breaking rate.
It was a watershed moment for Marvel Cinematic Universe as during World War 2, not only the science and technology advanced remarkably but they also got their first superheroes, Captain America and the Red skull, created by Professor Abraham Erskine. The creation of Captain America and Red skull was the next phase of human development focused on the creation of super-soldiers, using progressive technology to strengthen human beings which led to releasing of superhuman strengths.
What does the Eternals have to do with Erskine’s super-soldier experiments?
All these events lead to mankind coming to be of cosmic importance in the Endgame when the people of Earth were accountable for bringing back half of the population of the universe. Provided the historical consequence of Erskine’s World War 2 experiments, It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone if we find out that some of the members of the immortal squad were somehow responsible for the creation of Erskine’s super-soldier serum.
Also, it might be the Eternals themselves who guided Professor Erskine to choose the perfect candidate with the right character and traits for his super-soldier experiment. Even if they weren’t the ones who guided Erskine to choose the candidate, they still may have been involved in World War 2 from the sidelines. They may have been on the side of the allies and intervened indirectly.
All of this would explain why Kingo had Captain America’s shield and why they sounded so familiar while discussing Captain Rogers. On the other hand, the old Captain America aka Steve Rogers may have no idea who he was interacting with at that time.
