Henry Cavill Might Have Found His Next Big Franchise After Superman And The Witcher

Henry Cavill stayed quite busy himself. The player also acted on blockbuster Netflix series The Witcher and films such as Mission: Impossibile – Fallout and Enola Holmes, in addition to his first Superman part with The Justice League of Zack Snyder that is ultimately shown at HBO Max. Now it appears like he’s discovered his next massive franchise: Highlander. Henry Cavill is committed to making it a remake for the Highlander. Sources say that our Henry Cavill superman would be supported by one of the main lines in the Highlander restoration of Lionsgate.

Highlander remake will be an exciting project to see from Cavill.

For over a decade and a half, a Highlander revival is underway, and the newest news on this project is the eye-catching of Henry Cavill. Deadline states that it is uncertain if Cavill would play a new role or a new character in a Highlander revival, but Lionsgate is supposedly willing to put him on board.

Although Henry Cavill was confirmed lately to take over Sherlock Holmes in Netflix’s Enola Holmes 2, Highlander’s upcoming film would provide the actor with another chance to anchor a series. After all, it doesn’t appear like its Superman version will be back soon (if at all), mainly because Ta-Nehisi Coates’ development is developing and J.J. Abrams is producing a Black actor to portray Kal-El/Clark Kent. It is said to include this Black actor. However, Cavill also remains engaged to The Witcher, and thus it may be challenging to suit the Highlander timeline, provided that Netflix does not cancel the show when the 2nd season airs later in the year.

But if Henry Cavill signs onboard Highlander, this will be the first significant step for developing this project since 2008. Directors such as Justin Lin and performers such as Ryan Reynolds have come and gone throughout the years from rebooting. Still, according to Deadline’s claim, they are currently “in production” in a position. The managing producers are Amanda Lewis, Patrick Wachsberger and Gregory Widen, and now include Josh Wick Chad Stahelski with Neal H. Moritz, Josh David and David Leitch.

Christopher Lambert starred as Conner MacLeod in Highlander (franchise).

Many people are unaware with the Highlander franchise; the original film, released in 1986, stars Christopher Lambert as Conner MacLeod, a 16th-century Scotsman who is one of many humans who are immortal thanks to an energy known as the Quickening. They can, however, still die if they are decapitated. These immortals will fight until only a few are left, and then they will fight until one of them gets the “Prize.”

The TV Highlander: The Source was broadcast on the then-Sci-Fi channel in 2007, which followed three sequels of theatrical Highlanders from 1991 through 2000. A Highlander TV show was shown from 1992 to 1998, which served as a follow-up to the original film.

If this new High country movie is a fully-fledged restart of the franchise, namely resetting continuity, Henry Cavill is easier to see as Conner MacLeod. Nevertheless, Cavill would portray a new character if the film were more of a looser reboot and somehow related to the original film series. In any case, anyone who is this person is one of the leading parts. Dave Bautista was cast as Kurgan back in 2015, but it’s not apparent whether he’s still connected with the production with so much time over it. In the first part, he played in the original Highlander.

Of course, we’re going to keep you up to date on other Highlander news here at CinemaBlend, especially if Henry Cavill has officially been revealed. Please keep track of our 2021 release schedule throughout the latter part of this year.
