According to the deadline, a director has been hired for the upcoming marvel project, and he is none other than Bassam Tariq, who is best known for directing mogul Mowgli in 2020. If this news is true, then it will make Tariq the 4th person of color to direct an MCU film after Ryan coogler in Black Panther, Chloe Zhao in Eternals and Nia Dacosta in the Marvels. Although Marvel Studios has not confirmed the news yet, this will correspond with the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige’s ambition to diversify both the cast and crew of the Marvel films.

At first, Marvel Studios was planning to hire a writer-director for the film but later separated the two roles. This will most likely be an excellent decision considering what the combined talent of Tariq and Osei will bring to the movie. Even though Tariq has directed only one major film, his knack for identifying young talent and snag them for his projects is remarkably similar to Dacosta’s hiring to direct the Captain Marvel chapter 2.
