The plot follows the Demon Lord Satan, who is looking to conquer the world of Ente Isla with the help of his demon generals Alciel, Lucifer, Malacoda, and Adramelech.
They are stopped by the Hero Emilia, who kills off Malacoda and Adramelech. Still, in the process, Satan and Alciel, along with Emilia, get transported to the real world in Tokyo, Japan.
Satan and Alciel soon find out the new world doesn’t have magic and, as a result, take up new names, Sadao Mao and Shiro Ashiya, respectively. To survive in this new world, Sadao begins working in a fast-food restaurant while Shiro takes care of the house.
One day, Sadao comes across Emilia, who initially attacks him, but on seeing how humble and good, his lifestyle in the new world is, they strike a lukewarm friendship. Can these netherworld demons and heroes survive the daily challenges of an average human in the remaining plot of the show?

The Devil is a part timer final episode, “The Devil and the Hero Do Some Honest Hard Work,” we see the repercussion of the battle with Sariel. Sadao cant return to Ente Isla as he had used all his magic against Sariel, who is in love with the disapproving Mayumi.
Sadao and Shiro secretly begin working overtime to pay for Hanzo s’ GPS, which saved them from Sariel, but they find Hanzo caught in a scam of buying worthless items. He threatens the manager for a refund, but Emi diffuses the situation by returning the items under a cooling-off period. The episode ends with Shiro and Sadao celebrating their victory as Emi gifts the latter an umbrella in exchange for the one he lent her.

Finally, season one had many moments which teased a love angle between Sadao and Emi. Are these two harboring any romantic feelings for each other? We have to wait to find out in the second season.

The Devil is part timer season 2 will be directed by Daisuke Tsukushi, who will replace Naota Hosoda from the first season. There is also a change in the studio, with 3Hz taking over from White Fox. Masahiro Yokotani will script the show, and the music will be composed by Lantis.
