Witcher Season 3 Will Be Filmed in Italy, Slovenia & Croatia
Recently the information about Witcher Season 3 filming process has come to light, and the narrative will be filmed in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.
The Witcher Series, released in the year 2019, is the most recent dramatic fictional series created by Lauren S. Hissrich. The foundation of the series storyline is the most popular Polish novels and short stories written by Andrzej Sapkowski. The Polish novels were translated into English and given to the world via Netflix, for which we all are grateful.
The fictional series on Netflix is set on a medieval-inspired landmass known as ‘The Continent’. The Witcher franchise is scattered across the world in various directions, such as the Sapkowski novels, the witcher video games, also a card game named ‘Gwent’, an animated movie released last year, 2021, named ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’, and the popular and most-viewed series on Netflix, The Witcher.
Witcher Season 1 begins the journey of three leading characters in the series, Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher, played by Henry Cavill, Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful sorcerer, played by Anya Chalotra, and Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Ciri, played by Freya Allan. The character was introduced with the different timelines, exploring the following events, which resulted in developing their characters.
The Witcher Season 2, released last year, in December 2021, entails the journey of two characters, Geralt and Ciri, destined to meet, and throughout the season, their father-daughter relationship growing out of the horrible events. The end of Season 2 gathered the three main characters together, Ciri, Geralt and Yennefer, who then planned to start a new journey far away from the people they love because of the risk of losing them.

The Witcher Season 3’s script was given the green light before the filming of Witcher Season 2, and recently, we have learned that Witcher Season 3 will be filmed in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.
The world of the Witcher Series is heavily inspired by Europe; like in the books written by Andrzej Sapkowski, names of a few locations were given, which are European locations, like Montecalvo or Anguoleme. The showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, put a lot of effort into filming season 1 in Europe, and she planned similar things for season 2. However, the whole world was unaware of the global pandemic, which, among other things, had a big impact on the filming of Season 2.
As reported earlier, the filming process of the Witcher Season 3 would happen in March, and it is March already, with things speeding up. According to the new updated, the filming of Witcher Season 3 will start at the beginning of March 2022, in the Italian province of South Tyrol (Region of Bolzano), and then it will move further in the east direction to Slovenia. At the end of March or at the beginning of April, the filming will be moved to Croatia for ten days.

Suppose we try and estimate the Witcher Season 3 released date, as the new information about filming has come to light, so the filming of the entire season will need approximately 21-22 weeks. If the filming goes as planned, without any delays or accidents, the shooting will probably end at the end of July or at the starting of August 2022.
