Each year numerous isekai series is released, and Summer 2022 was no different as the anime adaption of Shinkoshoto s’ light novel My Isekai Life hit the small screens.
The plot follows salaryman Yuji Sano who is constantly working and is a slave to the corporate environment.
On one such working spree, Yuri receives a message on his home computer which states that he is summoned to another world. He shuts the system but unknowingly accepts the summon and is transported into a gaming-like fantasy world.
Although Yuri desires to lead a peaceful unassuming life, he learns that he has a weak rank of a Monster Tamer which allows him to tame slimes.
By befriending them, he also can acquire magical knowledge and eventually gain a second character class.
How Yuji uses this newfound power and goes about his magi-filled fantasy life is the central plot of the show.
My Isekai Life Season One was received with mixed reviews as some hardcore isekai fans enjoyed it while others simply found it unengaging,

My Isekai Life Season One aired from 4th July 2022 to 12th September 2022 for 12 episodes.
As of writing, there is no update from studio Revoroot on the renewal of My Isekai Life Season 2.

Production studios consider various financial and commercial metrics before announcing a renewal.
Financially, the anime could not provide any signification boost to sales as neither the manga nor the light novel made it to the July Top 20 Oricon list.
However, before the anime s’ premiere, the series sold 5 million copies, but by February 2023, there was a jump of two million copies which saw the cumulative total reach 7 million in just ten months.
Considering those numbers for a sub-par isekai anime, the series had quite well in terms of copies in circulation for both manga and light novels.
As mentioned earlier, My Isekai Life Season One failed to impress most critics and fans compared to other isekai releases of Summer 202, such as Black Summoner, Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World and Parallel World Pharmacy, and Uncle From Another World.
The static personality of the protagonist, incidental motivations, and aimless storylines are a few reasons for the poor reviews, which are backed up by its IMDB user episode ratings.

Even if the reviews and profits get a pass, a crucial factor for renewal will be the availability of studio and source material.
Studio Revoroot is a relatively new production house that premiered its first project (FLC Alternative) in September 2018, and since then, they have only produced three more series, which include no sequels.
Hence, it’s clear the studio does not have the facilities to produce multiple projects in a year or even renew old series; hence it is unlikely that My Isekai Life Season 2 would happen.
Nevertheless, if by some miracle the studio does renew, then we can expect My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World Season 2 trailer and My Isekai Life Season 2 release date by Summer 2025.

My Isekai Life Light novel is written by Shinkoshoto and illustrated by Huuka Kazabana.
It was serialized online on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2017, and SB Creative published the first novel in print under their GA Novel label on 15th May 15, 2018.
The light novel has been published in 12 volumes, with the latest issue released on 14th September 2022.

My Isekai Life manga was written by Shinkoshoto and illustrated by Ponjea. It began serialization in Manga Up! On 29th July 2018.

MY ISEKAI LIFE SEASON 2 PLOT
In the finale of My Isekai Life Season one, “My Isekai Life,” as the monster raids the village, Sage professes to provide salvation by destroying the world.
The slimes tell him that citizens and adventures have upped their defenses since his visit. Steyl leans that judgment will be bestowed when the sun and moon unite.
Yuji wants to know why Yuuji insists on saving the world which the latter responds, “Because he likes this world.”
Yuuji moves the spell into the Knife of Kethis, causing a light so brilliant it briefly obscures the sun, similarly as in Steyl’s disclosure.
Sage is cut with the knife and obliterated. Yet again, regardless of each town observing, Yuuji decides to vanish discreetly.
Yuuji is exasperated that the cult hasn’t surrendered. After gathering one more abundance in another town, Yuuji gains from nearby society pioneer Meggia that overcoming winged serpents and Sage has put him on the map across the mainland, and his longing to live in haziness is presently unimaginable.
After collecting another bounty in a new village, Yuuji learns from local guild leader Meggia that defeating dragons and Sage has made him famous across the continent, and his desire to live in obscurity is now impossible.
My Isekai Life Season One covered the first three volumes of the light novel, which means My Isekai Life Season 2 will begin by adapting Volume 4.
Amidst the many adventures of Yuuji in the first season, My Isekai Life Season 2 will look to answer his true purpose in this isekai realm and whether he was summoned.
Usually, in the isekai animes, the main character doesn’t return to the original world, but Yuuji will be back at his desk job after his escapism adventure.
The worst enemy of all the My Isekai Life Season 2 characters was the Blue Moon Cult, but will they take their revenge after facing defeat in season one?
My Isekai Life Season 2 opens with Yuji battling the Mythic Dragon and finding himself in quite a dilemma due to his most potent spell doing no damage and simply bouncing off!
Now all Yuji can do is depend on his slime companions and a mysterious dagger gifted to him by Father Steyl, but if his strongest magic isn’t working, is this blade enough to defeat this powerful enemy?
After the fight with the dragon, Yuji gets a request from Ms. Dryad to harvest some mushrooms from the scene of the fight since all the magic being thrown around has made them perfect ingredients to make potions with.
In exchange for Yuji’s help picking ingredients, she even agrees to let him keep a couple for himself, which will be useful, seeing as they restore a lot of MP!
