Adachi to Shimamura Season 2, when will it happen? Yuri, by no means, is a mainstream genre in anime, but like any other genre, it has a sizeable fanbase.

For those who do not know, Yuri animes focus on romantic and intimate relationships between female characters, adding a touch of Iyashikei to the mix.

While the Yuri series are not prevalent as it used to be, Fall 2022 was privy to one of them as the anime adaption of Hitoma Iruma s’ light novel hit the small screens.

The story follows two girls, Houguetsu Shimamura and Sakura Adachi, who encounter each other after skipping class.

They become good friends, and eventually, the friendship blooms into romance as Sakura starts having feelings for Houguetsu.

Adachi is an introvert and struggles to build relationships with others, while Houguetsu, albeit not a social pariah, likes taking care of others.

Production studios consider various financial and commercial metrics before announcing a renewal.

Financially, Accroding to Erzat, the Blu-Ray sales have been good as Volume 1 sold under 2,000 copies in its first week, and the climb started from Volume 2, where sales breached the 2,000 copies mark.

Although growth is not immense, it has recorded better sales volume-to-volume in its first weeks. The total debut sales from Volume 1 to Volume 4 currently stand at 9,131 copies.

Volume 4 was ranked #2 in Japan’s Top Weekly Anime Blu-ray and DVD Ranking from 1st March 2021 to 7th March 7, 2021.On the other hand, the latest light novel volume 11 sold 3,3639.

While the reviews, ratings, and profits are favorable, a crucial factor for renewal will be the availability of studio and source material.

Studio Tezuka Productions have lately been occupied with multiple series such as Endo and Kobayashi Live, My Home Hero, and The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses.

Currently, the studio has three projects scheduled to release, i.e., Under Ninja (October 2023), Pluto (2023), and Astro Boy Reboot (TBA).

Hence, looking at the studio’s production schedule, it looks highly unlikely that Adachi to Shimamura Season 2 will happen any time soon.

Furthermore, most Yuri animes are controversial, and Adachi to Shimamura was no different as the voice actor of Houguetsu, Miku Ito found herself in one.

Bunshun Online reported that Miku was seen with a Japanese model Chihiro Okutani outside an event in Saitama.

The rumored couples were pictured numerous times leaving the apartment and returning as implications point out to them living together.

Miku took to Twitter to apologize to her fans as her private life got exposed and thanked them for their continued support.

Some fans have been speculating over this incident, stating it will impact or even cancel the chances of Adachi to Shimamura Season 2 happening, which could not be further from the truth.

Studios announce renewal based on profits, source material, and staff availability; thus, rumors such as these will not have any say on the future of Adachi to Shimamura Season 2.

Speaking of source material, there is good news as five volumes are available for the creators to produce Adachi to Shimamura Season 2.

All in All, Adachi to Shimamura Season 2 is not canceled, but the prospects of it happening in the near future are not looking good.

Typically, creators take about 1-2 years to produce sequels, so there is still hope for fans expecting Adachi to Shimamura Season 2.

Now, the latest we can expect some updates on Adachi to Shimamura Season 2 trailer and Adachi to Shimamura Season 2 release date would be by Summer 2024.

In the finale of Adachi to Shimamura Season One, after Adachi finally opens to Shimamura, she wants to do something over the spring break, and nothing s’ better than a sleepover.

Shimamura also notices that Taeko’s hair smells different. Taeko mentions that since she stayed at Akira’s house, she took a bath there.

This, of course, gives Adachi an idea to stay at Shimamura’s house over Spring Break. After Taeko and Akira leave, Adachi asks if she can stay at Shimamura’s house. She did not care if the bath was small; she just wanted to be close with Shimamura. Also, not just for one day, but for a few days.

As expected, Adachi didn’t hesitate as she felt her heart thumping. Adachi eventually scoots closer, and her back feels Shimamura’s chest. Of course, she fell asleep after Adachi did it.

When Adachi was about to kiss Shimamura, her little sister came in, and Adachi had to abort the mission.

Obviously, Adachi became so happy that she hugged her. She was about to confess to her, but she said that Shimamura looks lovely instead.

It seems that Adachi has not got the courage yet, but at least it’s getting somewhere. After all, Shimamura finally accepts Adachi’s request to sleep in the same room.

Eventually, the break ends, and it seems that while Adachi and Shimamura’s sets aren’t next to each other, at least they are closer.

Not only that, it seems that Shimamura does not mind being closer to Adachi. After all, it is the cherry blossom that is right in front of her. Either way, a small victory of Shimamura is starting to figure out her romantic feelings toward Adachi.

Adachi to Shimamura Season One is covered till Volume 4 of the light novel, which means Adachi to Shimamura Season 2 will begin by adapting Volume 5.

Summer break is here, and Adachi to Shimamura Season 2 characters have their own plans.

Adachi’s determined to spend it with Shimamura; however, her old friend Tarumi has beaten her to the punch–as Adachi discovers when she catches the two of them together.

Will this rude awakening give Adachi the push she needs to confess her feelings finally? And is Shimamura even ready to hear them if she does?
