Each year numerous isekais are released, and Spring 2022 was no different as the anime adaption of Mato Sato s’ light novel series, Executioner and Her Way of Life hit the small screen.
The premise is set in an alternate world wherein wanderers called “Lost Ones” were given immense powers known as “Pure Concepts.”
The new world is filled with Japanese influences as a result, the advanced civilization has prospered. As time passed, the Lost Ones lost control of their superpower resulting in disaster and calamity to the world.
To prevent such calamities again, the summoning of Lost Ones has become strictly forbidden and heavily managed by the Faust, a class of Church members in society.
Among the Faust are Executioners, members that wield magic etheric powers and set out to secretly assassinate any Lost Ones that may still appear.
The story follows a top-class executioner named Menou who is tasked to take out a Lost One known as Akari Tokito. To Menou s’ surprise, Akari possesses the Pure Concept of Time that allows reversing death.
Stunned and unfortunately, Menou sets out with Akari close by in order to track down an approach to killing her.
Executioner and Her Way of Life Season one was received with mixed reviews as some fans enjoyed the premise while others found the series generic isekai.
Either way, fans who enjoyed the first season are wondering if there will be a second season or not.

Executioner and Her Way of Life Season one aired from 2nd April 2022 to 18th June 2022 for 12 episodes.
As of writing, there is no information from studio J.C. Staff on the renewal of Executioner and Her Way of Life Season 2.

Production Studios consider various financial and commercial metrics before announcing a renewal.
As mentioned earlier, Executioner and Her Way of Life Season one was a mixed bag in the eyes of the critics and fans.
While the premise was interesting, it was not enough to draw in a positive response as compared to other isekai series released in Spring 2022, such as Ascendance of Bookworm, Healer Girl, and Skelton Knight in another World.
Even its IMDB user episode rating fluctuated quite a bit, with a good start in the first five episodes but tapering toward the end.

While the reviews and ratings aren’t massively inclining towards a sequel, it can be given a pass however, a factor that will be crucial for renewal will be the availability of the studio.
Currently, J.C. Staff has six new projects scheduled for 2023 and beyond. Hence, looking at the production schedule of the studio, it looks highly unlikely that Executioner and Her Way of Life Season 2 is going to happen any time soon.
Nevertheless, of the six projects, there are three sequels to past releases, possibly a good sign for the chances of Executioner and Her Way of Life Season 2.
The first season also ended with a post-credit highlighting a future plot line with Flare and how she knew about past regressions caused by Akari.
All in All, if the sequel’s production begins by early 2024, we can expect some updates on the Executioner and Her Way of Life Season 2 trailer and Executioner and Her Way of Life Season 2 release date by Winter Spring 2024.

Executioner and Her Way of Life light novel is written by Mato Sato and illustrated by Nilitsu. It has been published by SB creative under their GA Bunko imprint.
Seven volumes have been published, with the latest issue released on 14th April 2022. Volume 8 is scheduled to release on 25th March 2023.

Executioner and Her Way of Life manga is written by Mato Sato and illustrated by Ryo Mitsuya. It began serialization in Young Gangan magazine on 5th June 2020.

EXECUTIONER AND HER WAY OF LIFE LIGHT SEASON 2 PLOT
In the finale of Executioner and Her Way of Life Season 1, Menou and Ashuna fight Pandæmonium, however, they are compelled to separate when Pandæmonium sends her cronies to go after the town.
While Ashuna safeguards the town, Menou is forced to fight Pandæmonium alone and wins when Ashuna lends her blade. Menou powers up Ashuna’s sword with Akari’s Ether and annihilates Pandæmonium.
Pandæmonium discloses that Salt Sword comes from another Human Error and can destroy Pure Concepts, which means Akari can be killed.
Yet again, Akari stifles her recollections, and the two choose to proceed on their way. In the meantime, Momo sees Menou’s developing friendship with Akari and promises to kill Akari in Menou’s stead. Manon is revied by another Pandæmonium section, and it is inferred Pandæmonium is Manon’s more established sister, having been shipped off this world long way in front of her mom.
Elsewhere, Flare is informed that Pandæmonium and the Mechanical Society Human Errors are beginning to become active. Encouraged by this news, Flare resolves to kill Menou again in order to continue forcing Akari to reset the timeline.
Executioner and Her Way of Life Season one covered two volumes of the light novel, which means Executioner and Her Way of Life Season 2 will begin by adapting Volume 3.
To kill Akari, Menou scours the external spans of the West looking for an unbelievably sharp edge that transforms all its contacts into salt.
There, she coincidentally finds Sahara, a priest, who has a set of experiences with the youthful Killer and implores her to end her life inexplicably.
The Mechanical Society is a city where residents live under an artificial under the control of a shut-in gamer.
Like the fog zone of Pandemonium, people who enter the city function, but there is a form of mind control that slowly corrupts its victims.
The Mechanical Society transforms people into RPG characters where they can grow more powerful and “level up” by killing enemies, but the mind control slowly erodes people until they become puppet minions.
It’s this power that allows the Human Error to influence others directly and Akari is even kidnapped by armed criminals!
Hoping to avoid a future where Menou dies trying to save Akari, the girl from Japan runs away with her sworn enemy. They ride the rails to a secluded village in the mountains where they believe they will be safe for a few days.

Executioner and Her Way of Life are directed by Yoshiki Kawasaki with series composition by Shogo Yasukawa. Characters are designed by Keiko Tamaki, and the music is composed by MICHIRU.
