Welcome to Love after World Domination, a whacky Power Ranger parody that shows you what would traditionally be a more serious genre-like action and turns it into a light-hearted romantic comedy.

Love after World Domination is a superhero rom-com based on the manga series written by Hiroshi Noda and anime adapted by Project No.9. 

The premise follows the evil group Gekko, who is trying to take over the world with its millions of goons and a few of its leaders, that are the only ones who pose a real threat.To counterattack Gekko, a superhero team called Gelato 5 is formed consisting of, as the name suggests, five members, i.e., Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Pink Gelato.

The story follows the superhero and leader of Gelato Fudo Aikawa, who is secretly dating the Gekko s’ latest recruit, reaper princess Desumi Magahara. 

The red Gelato leader of the Gelato 5 fearlessly fights the reaper princess alone while the rest of his group fends off the minions; however, when no one is around, they aren’t fighting at all because they are actually in love with each other.

While their teammates fight each other to either save or take over the world, Desumi and Fudo have short dates, which consist mostly of the romantic struggles of when to hold hands and planning for the next time they meet.

Can the superhero and supervillain love birds hide their dating escapades and maintain the ruse of fighting each other is the central plot of Love after World Domination.

Despite the cheesy plot and blatant fanservice, Love after World Domination is an enjoyable watch and touches upon awkward relationship problems that every new couple faces. The idea of dating someone from the villain s side adds more spice as Fudo and Desumi work out ways to keep their relationship secret.

The fans received love after World Domination season one well, and there is already a demand for a second season for this Summer 2022 romantic comedy.

LOVE AFTER WORLD DOMINATION SEASON 2 RENEWAL STATUS?

Love after World Domination season one aired from 8th April 2022 to 24th June 2022 for 12 episodes.

As of writing, there is no update from the creators or production house for the renewal of Love After World Domination season 2.The primary reason behind the non-renewal is the lack of source material, i.e., the Love After World Domination manga series, which is scheduled to end on 5th November 2023.

The first season adapted 23 chapters from the available 35 chapters of the manga, which means only 12 chapters are available as source material for a second season. Safe to say, that s’ not enough for the creators to announce a renewal and begin production for season two.

Furthermore, the anime which AnimeNewsNetwork listed as one of the most anticipated and best Spring 2022 anime but unfortunately could not boost the manga sales.

If we look at the user episode ratings on IMDB, Love After World Domination faired reasonably well, with an average rating of 7.2/10.

Love After World Domination manga is written by Hiroshi Noda and illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu. It began serialization in Monthly Shonen Magazine since November 2019. The manga has been collected into 5 volumes, with the latest issue released on 15th April 2022.

The November issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine revealed on Thursday that Hiroshi Noda and Takahiro Wakamatsu’s Love After World Domination (Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de) manga would end with its next chapter on 5th November 2022.

Love After World Domination manga is rated 7.5/10 and ranked #2362 with 10k members on MyAnimeList.

LOVE AFTER WORLD DOMINATION SEASON 2 PLOT

In the final episode of Love After World season one, “Eternal Rivals,” Fudo gets picked in a wedding commercial that enrages Desumi as it involves a cake-cutting scene with a famous idol.

Desumi asks Fudo not to go, but the latter accuses her of being selfish and leaves. Fudo is later explained by Arisugawa why Desumi doesn’t want him to go and how he is hurting her.

Elsewhere, the ultimate Phantom is creating havoc in the city and defeats all members of the Gelato 5. Big Gelato comes up with a plan and asks all five Gelato members to combine their weapons into an ultimate sword called Gelato Claymore.

The Claymore is massive, and Desumi assists Fudo as they cut open the Phantom, similar to the wedding cake. The episode ends with Desumi acting to fight Fudo and maintain the ruse. The couples are interviewed, and they promise to see each other again.

If by some miracle, a second season is renewed, then we will return to Gekko Town, which is ambushed by minions who are indulged in-office romance. They are punished by Gekko Boss, who takes away their café privileges which leaves Beast Prince astonished.

Beast and Desumi, disguised as civilians, attend a party at the Gelato Headquarters, where they stumble upon the Blue Gelato. He immediately takes a liking to Desumi, which triggers a new romance.

Desumi and Fudo s’ dating life takes another curvy turn when they come across the former s’ father.

CONCLUSION 

It’s rather unfortunate that renewal is unlikely, but for over-the-top romantic-comedy fans, Love After World Domination should have been a treat.
