Written by Tappei Nagatsuki and Illustrated by Sinichirou Otsuka, Re: Zero – Starting Life in another world is a Japanese light novel series. Based on this series, two anime seasons were released with 25 episodes each. The Rezero manga adaption became quite popular in 2016.
The White Fox Studios produce the Rezero anime series, and it’s one of the most significant studio projects, given its popularity and success. The story of the series follows Subaru, a typical teenager and Emilia, a half-elf who wishes to become the King of the Dragon Kingdom of Legnica.
What has happened till Re zero season 2?
The story starts with Subaru going grocery shopping and was suddenly transported into another world. Later on, he realises he has the ability to go back in time after death to the beginning point. He uses this power multiple times to protect Emilia from danger and death. The interesting part is that whenever he dies, he feels the pain and suffering of the death, which is not easy at all. It’s pretty brave of him to go through that more than one time.
To make it more difficult, Emilia has several enemies who wish harm on her, including humans who are afraid of her, her competitors and the Witches’ cult. With his powers, Subaru always protects Emilia from every danger, especially from the Witch’s cult.
When will Re zero season 4 happen?
So far, the White fox has made no announcements regarding the renewal of the Rezero series. Not much is revealed about the cast of season 3 either. Hopefully, the main characters from the previous seasons will be there in the third season.
Several rumours claim that there will be new additions to the cast of the Re zero season 2. The Re zero season 2 ended on 24 March 2021, so it’s too soon for another season to come out. However, there is not even a confirmation about Re zero season 3 from the production house.
Is there enough content for a third season?
Source material also plays an essential role in the renewal of a series. In this case, the source material is not a problem. There is enough content for the third season of Re zero as there are 26 volumes left from the light novel series to be covered. Judging by the release pattern of Re zero season 2, the next season will most likely come out between 2022 and 2024.
A third season is necessary for the Rezero anime series; without Rezero season 3, fans will never understand the relationship between Satella and Witch’s Cult. Also, there are a lot more things to be explored. Hopefully, Rezero season 3 will answer all the questions.
