The Witcher Season 2 Could Entail Game of Thrones’ Second Season Problem
“Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher.” – The Witcher Season 2
The Witcher is a fiction drama popularly streamed on Netflix, created by an American Television Producer, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. The whole story is based on some books written by Andrzej Sapkowski. The book was originally written in Polish but converted into 37 Languages, because of which Andrzej’s novels became the second most translated science fictions novels in the world.
A Witcher means a monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, is a fictional character in the Witcher Series who is a magically enhanced protagonist who hunts monsters. The show follows the story of a solitary monster who struggles to find his place in the world of more wicked humans.
Geralt wasn’t the only monster-hunter in the series, but there are many. He was trained by another Witcher named Vesemir – might have heard mentioning his name in some of the early episodes. The show exclusively deals with the Adventures of Geralt, the Witcher, and his encounters with people.
Similarities between the Witcher & Game of Thrones
The Game of Thrones is based on books written by George R. R. Martin, an adventure created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. It’s about the war between Nine Noble Families to gain power over the Continent of Essos.
One similarity is that both the shows are based on books/novels. Game of Thrones was introduced on HBO, whereas The Witcher was released on Netflix. Both the series depict the negative impact of power over common sense.
A queen is repeatedly given good advice, and she refuses to listen because the person giving her advice isn’t wearing a crown. Politics play an essential role in The Witcher as well as in Game of thrones. The Thrones has seven kingdoms united under one king, whereas Witcher soon becomes an empire of multiple realms.
The Thrones fans focus divided among many characters, as Game of Thrones cast includes Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark (played by Sean Bean), Robert Baratheon (played by Mark Addy), Tyrion Lannister (played by Peter Dinklage), and many more. However, the Witcher narrow’s the focus to the main three characters – Geralt (played by Henry Cavill), Yennifer (by Anya Chalotra), and Cirilla (played by Freya Allan).
The magic center is amazing in The Witcher, as Geralt himself is the magic user. People are aware of the reality of magic as it has become a significant part of their everyday lives. However, Game of Thrones’ fans was not pleased by the poorly paid off magic tricks shown in the series.
The Witcher Season 2
“None of us will have any peace, until there are no more monsters left in the world” – Geralt of Rivia.
Witcher Season 2 has grabbed the attention of new and old fans of Andrzej Sapkowski. Season 1 was literally just the beginning and attracted many people who love supernatural things and magic.
The Witcher Season 2 release date is finalized, and it will be released on December 17, 2021. On the one hand, the fans are excited to uncover the travel of Geralt and Ciri towards the Kaer Morhen. However, on the other hand, fans are in doubt about watching the similar problem exist in the witcher season 2, like the one in Game of Thrones’ second season.
The trailer of Witcher Season 2 entails a start of ‘A Grain of Truth’ short story written by Andrzej Sapkowski. In this story, Geralt meets his part-beast part-man, Nivellan, by introducing new characters and locations for future storylines.
The fans could disappoint if the Witcher Season 2 entails the same problem as Game of Thrones Season 2 did because of the several similarities. This risk is Netflix willing to take by exposing too much too quickly through the trailer. The fans have to wait till December 17, 2021, not far from now.
