The story follows a rookie Kokona Ootri who aspires to become a World Dai Star but has been unsuccessful in all her auditions.
After numerous failures, she finally gets an opportunity to audition for a famous theatre group called Sirius.
Inspired by her friend Shizukua, she makes it in the group and starts her journey alongside established members and some fresh faces hoping to make it big.
Specialized abilities known as ‘Sense’ have manifested in the new generation of actors, and their use gives performers the edge over each other in defining their roles.
Kokona will have to understand her unique Sense and how she can use it to fulfill her dream of becoming a World Dai Star.

As mentioned earlier, World Dai Star Season One was an above-average series and failed to break into the top-rated anime list of Spring 2023.
World Dai Star albeit having an interesting premise and a unique take on the CGDCT trope, could not stand out in a season where Oshi no Ko became a worldwide success.
Anime News Network gave the anime an overall C grade with criticism for being over-reliant on gimmicks to the detriment of any insight into its subject matter while the musical numbers are haphazardly integrated.
The renewal decision of a project is significantly influenced by the availability of the studio and source material, despite the reviews and ratings.
Currently, studio Lerche has scheduled Classroom of the Elite Season 3 to release in January 2024.
However, the studio is not known to produce sequels with only Classroom of the Elite receiving multiple installments in recent times.
Furthermore, an anime similar to World Dai Star called Idoly Parade was released in 2021 by the studio, which was much more popular and is yet to receive a second season.
Also, the anime doesn’t have readymade source material with World Dai Star manga adaption beginning serialization on 2nd April 2023.

WORLD DAI STAR SEASON 2 PLOT
In the final episode of “The Two of Us Together”, opening day has finally come but Kokona seems a little down about Shizuka, although Kathrina encouraged her.
The team is optimistic about their ability to retrieve her from the production. Notably, Kathrina’s mother was seated beside the theater critic, Chisa, who promptly identified her.
Noa eagerly awaits Kokona’s performance, despite the unexpected absence of Shizuka. Noa has maintained the original roles, as she is keen to observe Kokona’s performance, even if she were to lose her sense.
According to Shamo, Noa’s behavior might be perceived as self-centered, but she holds the belief that senses are in a constant state of flux, ultimately reflecting an individual’s aspirations. She is of the opinion that Kokona’s senses will remain unchanged, but they will undoubtedly become more acute over time.
During the rehearsal, Kokona outperformed her peers’ expectations. The Phantom and Christine roles were portrayed exceptionally by Panda, Kokona, and Yae, demonstrating their impressive acting abilities, particularly in utilizing their senses.
Kokona arrived to meet with Shizuka and reminded her of the promise made earlier. It is evident that Kokona’s aspiration to become a World Dai Star is dependent on Shizuka achieving the same feat.
Following the conclusion of the performance, Kokona proceeded to the backstage area, where she was unexpectedly greeted by Shizuka. Interestingly enough, Shizuka appeared to be donning the very same costume as Kokona.
According to Shamo, the evolution of Senses is an ongoing process that brings out the best in actors. There is a possibility that the senses of Kokona and Shizuka can also reach the pinnacle of excellence, equivalent to the combined level of their senses.
It is worth noting that Chisa may have developed a sense of self-awareness. Furthermore, it was unexpected that Yae would ultimately be appointed as the World Dai Star for Sirius.
It is notable that Kokona’s abilities have surpassed those of Yae. However, it is worth mentioning that Kokona is only able to achieve this feat when her and Shizuka’s abilities are combined. It is understandable why Noa chose Yae over Kokona as a result.
The observation serves as an indication of Yae’s triumph over the limitations that previously impeded her progress towards the desired outcome.
At present, it is quite fitting to observe the positions of Shizuka and Kokona on the theatrical stage, as Noa proceeds with the selection of their next performance for Sirius.
