Yowamushi Pedal is sports anime adapted by TMS Entertainment based on the manga writings of Wataru Watanabe. The plot follows an otaku Sakamichi Onoda who rides 90km to Akiba on his cycle to buy manga and anime goodies.
He joins Chiba Sohoku Public High School and hopes to make new friends with whom he can share his interests. He quickly learns the school s’ manga and anime club has been abandoned due to lack of interest, and to reform the club, he needs four new members.
In his search, Onoda meets Shunsuke Imaizumi, who challenges him to a cycling race after seeing him cycle up a hill with his bike. A bet is made in between the two that If Onoda loses the race, he will join their cycling club, and if Shunsuke comes second, he will join Onoda s’ anime club.
Who wins the race and does Onoda fulfill his dream of reforming the school s’ anime club is the show’s central plot.

WHAT IS THE YOWAMUSHI PEDAL SEASON 5 RELEASE DATE?
The anime’s first season ran from 7th October 2013 to 1st July 2014 for 38 episodes. Yowamushi Pedal season 2 aired from 6th October 2014 to 30th March 2015 for 24 episodes. The third season ran from 10th January 2017 to 27th June 2017 for 25 episodes and the fourth season aired from 9th January 2018 to 25th June 2018 for 25 episodes.
On 5th August 2022, the show’s official Twitter account confirmed the Yowamushi Pedal season 5 release date as 9th October 2022. The announcement was followed by a trailer and visual teaser, confirming the fifth season’s title as Yowamushi Pedal Limit Break.

YOWAMUSHI PEDAL MANGA CATCHUP
Yowamushi Pedal manga is written and illustrated by Wataru Watanabe. It began serialization on Weekly Shonen Champion on 21st February 2008. The manga has been compiled into 78 volumes with 670 chapters and is still ongoing.
The anime has covered 50 volumes of the manga, with the final episode of season four adapting the 427th Chapter titled “The Two people on the Downhill.” Hence, there is no lack of source material.
Yowamushi pedal manga has sold over 27 million copies since 2021 and won the best Shonen Manga award in 2015 at Kodansha Manga Awards.
Three movies have been released: Yowamushi Pedal: Re: RIDE, Yowamushi Pedal: Re: ROAD, and Yowamushi Pedal: Regeneration.
A spin-off series titled Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike recounting the backstory of third-year seniors was released on 9th September 2016.

YOWAMUSHI PEDAL SEASON 5 PLOT
In the final episode of Yowamushi pedal Glory Line, “Their Respective Starting Lines,” we see Miki getting ready for the upcoming race. The racers from Hakone Academy arrive early and says they only care about winning the race.
On the other hand, Teshima motivates his team and hopes a miracle is in store for them. Aoyagi is confronted by Miki, who encourages her to pull through despite her bruised leg.
We see Kyoto Fushimi being escorted by his team, and they all have shaved their heads in support. The race begins, and Mizuta, Ashikiba, and Onoda lead it.
Onoda faces difficulty traversing a flat road against Mizuta as Ashikiba is closing on them. Onoda picks up his speed and whizzes past Mizuta as a montage of Onoda s’ time at his new school plays on.
He remembers meeting Imaizumi and how the latter convinced him to join the cycling club. He also reminisces about his previous tutors in Makhishima and Tadokoro, who helped him hone his skills.
The flashback also pings his friends like Miki, Koga, and Sugimoto, who support him. Finally, we cut back to the present, where Imaizumi says, “Let’s go to the finish line,” and the episode ends.
Yowamushi Pedal Limit Break Season 5 will begin where the fourth season left off, i.e., concluding the third day of the Inter-High cycling race. The fifth season premier by adapting chapter 428 of the manga “Cooperation.”
