Things turn bad to worse when his assistant quits, and in turn, his manga sales are at an all-time low.
Ichiro is on the verge of a breakdown, but his editor Masahiro finds him a new assistant named Shiori Goshiki, a 19-year-old self-taught novice artist.
Things begin to look up as Ichiro now has a competent assistant, but not before a bizarre supernatural incident leaves Shiori to declare them engaged.
Ichiro is puzzled by the sudden developments, and now he must manage an unprecedented relationship with its own mysteries.
Can Ichiro fulfill his work duties as he figures out the complexities of his assistance-fiancée is the central plot of the show.

While the reviews and ratings are mostly in favor, a crucial factor for renewal will be the availability of studio and source material.
Asahi Production is by no means a big production studio and, as a result, can only work on limited projects with limited dates.
Currently, only one anime (B-Project Netsuretsu Love Call) is scheduled for 2023, and the studio is yet to announce any new projects for this year.
Furthermore, the first season adapted three out of the available six volumes, and considering the manga has concluded, it is unlikely that the studio will revisit for a sequel.
All in All, the prospects of A Galaxy Next Door Season 2 are not looking bright.
On the bright side, season one ended with Shiori declaring to marry Ichiro once she becomes self-sufficient, which could be a plotline fan, and the studio would like to continue.
Nevertheless, if the series does get renewed, we can expect updates on A Galaxy Next Door Season 2 Trailer and A Galaxy Next Door Season 2 release date by Spring 2025.

Otonari ni Ginga manga is written and illustrated by Gido Amagakure. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Seinen manga magazine Good! Afternoon on 17th April 2020.
The manga has been collected into 6 volumes, with the latest issue released on 6th July 2023.
As of November 2022, the manga has sold 3 million for volumes 1- 5.

A GALAXY NEXT DOOR SEASON 2 PLOT
In the final episode of A Galaxy Next Door Season One, “Fireworks with the Princess,” Ichiro asks Shiori on a date as the latter goes shopping with Chihiro for a colorful dress.
Chihiro confesses to Shiori that she loves Ichiro but admits that it’s impossible since he is her cousin.
During the date, their attraction is mutual as Shiori’s assurance to hold hands is impeded by Ichiro falling over.
But after a heart-to-heart over their feelings on the annulment, they manage to hold hands.
The following day Ichiro acknowledged with New Year and the hot spring trip, they are over the financial plan for the month.
This matches with Machi’s field trip, so she chooses not to try and tell Ichiro as he can’t bear the cost of it.
She additionally declines playing with her friends so Fumio will not be distant from everyone else.
Shiori is concerned, and Ichiro acknowledges what’s going on when Machi strangely begins crying, uncovering all that they have been passing up because of cash or Ichiro’s plan for getting work done.
Shiori immediately arranges an impromptu firework festival with friends in the garden to make up for it.
Ichiro can’t believe how lucky he was to meet her. Shiori decides once she has become self-sufficient as a manga artist, she will ask Ichiro to marry her.
A Galaxy Next Door Season one covered the first 15 chapters of the manga, which means A Galaxy Next Door Season 2 will begin by adapting Chapter 16.
Two months have passed since Ichiro and Shiori successfully annulled their marriage pact, and Shiori is eager to pursue her dream of becoming a manga artist.
She decides to enter a publishing contest for industry newcomers, full of confidence, positive that nothing could possibly bring her down.
Meanwhile, Ichiro must struggle with some disappointing news from his editor.
