Baghead Locks a Witch in a Basement; Freya Allan of “The Witcher” to Star!
Baghead is a feature-length remake of filmmaker Alberto Corredor’s acclaimed short film. Christina Pamies and Bryce McGuire are adapting the script for the cinema.
In Baghead, Freya Allan is scheduled to start for Studiocanal and The Picture Company, a breakthrough in the Witcher’s Netflix series. Production begins in Berlin in the fall. Allan begins at the upcoming action thriller Gunpowder Milkshake by Studiocanal/The Picture Company for Netflix.
Alberto Corredor directed the film and directed the short movie, which was purchased and transformed into a horror picture for its feature duration. Christina Pamies and Bryce McGuire have written the script. In the Cannes Market, Studiocanal will begin international sales.
Brief about Baghead
Baghead focuses on a strange individual named Baghead, a small, twisted person who can manifest the dead and return them to our world quickly. People are seeking to reconnect with the strange medium with lost ones. When, however, in contact with Baghead, the full capabilities and objectives of the title character are exposed, and its connections with the dead are paid a great price. The transfer feature builds on that line of history and takes a saw-like method, adding supernatural components. Allan will take the lead in the picture, which has to battle with the evil creature which has strong ties to the past of its family.
The Picture Company founders Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona are to produce the picture under its general agreement with Studiocanal. Vertigo’s Roy Lee (It) is to serve as the Alibi Jake Wagner’s executive producer. Corredor and Lorcan Reilly, the creators of the shorts, will also serve as executive producers, along with Ron Halpern of Studiocanal, Shana Eddy, and Rachel Henchosberg.
This is the latest instance of a horror/sci-fi short-acting as a potent calling card. David F. Sandberg, Andy Muschietti, and Neill Blomkamp, whose Alive in Joberg evolved into District 9, are latest instances.
In addition, Rona and Heineman created the short film Come Play at Amblin, directed by Jacob Chase, and have numerous more set up throughout town. The filmmakers will take the Liam Neeson movie Retribution in Berlin next month and pick up the Shipworm podcast for the whole film.
CAA United Agents represents Allan, while Verve and Alibi represent Corredor and Pamies.

What role Freya Allen Played in The Witcher?
The Witcher brought Princess Ciri, played by Freya Allan, to the world and gave people a taste of her abilities. However, Allan was initially cast in an entirely different role and went through an unusual casting process. The luxury drama series Witcher, which aired in December 2019 on Netflix, is based on the same name book series by Andrzej Sapkowski. Since The Witcher was previously adapted into video games, there was already a significant following, making the series one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases.
The Witcher starred Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, an augmented monster hunter; Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, a strong sorceress; and Ciri, the crown princess of Cintra and granddaughter of Queen Calanthe, who had magical abilities of her own. Their tales were recounted in distinct periods, with their journeys finally coming together at the end of the season. The Witcher was a huge career boost for most of the performers, notably Freya Allan, who had previously acted in several short films and more minor roles in various TV programs.
Originally, Freya Allan was cast in a minor role in The Witcher.
Freya allan remarked that the casting process for The Witcher was unusual in an interview with Digital Spy, because she could not tell what character she was going to play. Allan claimed that she was given parts to perform and was informed she would portray Marilka, even though casting director Sophie Holland advised screenwriter Lauren Schmidt Hissrich to consider her for Ciri. Later it was stated she was cast out as Marilka, but she was contacted on the following day by Alik Sakharov’s director, and other producers to “see her in Ciri,” and was cast on the next day. For Freya Allan and The Witcher, the change of Marilka for Ciri was obviously a big improvement.
Changing Marilka for Ciri was, of course, a significant improvement for Freya Allan and The Witcher. Ciri’s terror and strength, as well as her perplexity about her newly discovered talents and her battle for survival, were all nicely balanced by Allan’s performance. Ciri’s position not only gave her a more significant role in the series, but it also gave her a significant boost in her career, owing to a change of plans during the casting process.

Studiocanal is gearing up to launch international sales at the Cannes Market this fall, with production expected to begin in Berlin this autumn. With Roy Lee (It) of Vertigo, Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona of the Pictorial Company will produce the Alibi’s Jake Wagner as managing producer.
Corredor and Lorcan Reilly, the short film’s creators, will also act as executive producers. The project will be under the responsibility of RonHalpern, Shana Eddy and Rachel Henchosberg. Meanwhile, Allan will star in the Netflix action-thriller Gunpowder Milkshake, directed by Stu.
