Harry Potter Reunion: 20th Anniversary, Doesn’t Include JK Rowling
The new release of the Harry Potter Series, Harry Potter Reunion on the platform HBO Max, tends to ignore Harry Potter’s origin, JK Rowling Books.
Twenty years ago, we started a journey when the first train to Hogwarts hit the theatres with the premiere of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Now the Harry Potter Cast is witnessed again in a reunion released on HBO Max.
Harry Potter Return to Hogwarts has released at midnight PST on 1st January 2022, New Year’s Day. The harry potter is based on JK Rowling books of wizardry. However, a fascinating fact is that the Reunion doesn’t include any of the events from the books.
The announcement of the Reunion was made in November 2021, ever since the audience was waiting for it to release. The excitement in the potter heads about the harry potter cast reunion include our favourite Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron), and Emma Watson (Hermione).
Other than that, all the cast and crew members will be coming which are Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), plus Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge), James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), to name a few.
The Reunion is in all-time favourite JK Rowling House, Hogwarts mentioned in the harry potter books. Here we will be sharing the information about the absenteeism of JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter books in the reunion special.
Harry Potter Returns to Hogwarts: JK Rowling Ignored
In the Reunion, JK Rowling was ignored but not completely missing. One of the interview footage of her film in 2019 was shown in the Reunion. In that footage, she said some depreciating comments towards the Transgender population, because of which she was criticized a lot.
In June 2020, JK Rowling was spotlighted again for commenting that ‘transwomen are not women’ shared on Twitter. Various actors from the Harry Potter movies criticized her, too, sharing opposing statements in public.
Many viewers postulated that JK Rowling was not the part of Harry Potter Reunion because of the controversy. However, the team of JK Rowling reported that the theories are wrong; there is another reason she is ignored in the Reunion. People close to the team and situation stated that the controversy wasn’t even considered into the decision.
The audience is thinking about the controversy only, which was considered the reason for JK Rowling’s ignorance. However, the team of JK Rowling is saying otherwise, which is a hard sell for the audience. The viewers have torn apart between their love for the harry potter movies and dislike for the author because of her comments on transgender people.
Viewers are postulating another theory of JK Rowling being ignored in the Reunion. She was a crucial member involved in making Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie, a spin-off from the original Harry Potter movies. And she was not involved in making Harry Potter Movies, which is stated otherwise.
The archival footage depicted that JK Rowling played a big role in the original movies, but that is not true. Viewers think that JK Rowling wasn’t shown much in the Reunion because she wasn’t involved in making the movies. Many of the viewers are happy about her absence in Harry Potter Reunion because of the reasons stated above.
