The primary Highlander movie of 1986
The first Highlander film was released in 1986. That time, Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown starred as immortal beings on a hunt for greater strength in the first Highlander film. The film released 4 sequels and 3 TV programmes, including the famous Adrian Paul-led USA series with a tagline “There can be only one.” Highlander was first seen in 1986 and is about Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) who is a man born in the sixteenth century in the Scottish Highlands.
MacLeod met the swordman Ramírez (Sean Connery) after a deadly wound was passed around, who reveals that the couple belongs to an old and invincible group of immortal soldiers unless the two become decapitated.
MacLeod fights for millennia to be the last immortal standing, culminating in an event known as The Gathering. MacLeod and the wicked Kurgan (Clancy Brown), the two last immortals, contend for the “Prize,” a power that will make them rulers of Earth. Highlander became a cultic classic, which spawned sequences, TV spin-offs, books and comics, and the last live-action adaptation was the 2007 sequel, Highlander: The Source. Despite mixed criticism, the reception at the box office was lacklustre. For some time, a large-scale remake of the series is underway with Stahelski. Now, she will have her MacLeod.
