Elizabeth Olsen, the actress playing Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, explains why that character is the strongest Avenger in MCU.
An American Actress, Elizabeth Olsen, born in Sherman Oaks, California, began her career acting at the age of four. Her debut film was Martha Marcy May Marlene which was released in the year 2011. For her performance in her debut movie, she was nominated for Critics Choice Movie Award, among others.
Elizabeth Olsen gained international recognition by playing the character Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witcher, in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Elizabeth entered MCU through the Avengers: Age of Ultron premiere, released in 2015. Then in the Captain America: Civil War, released in 2016, she fought alongside Captain America. She was present and played one of the most important roles in fighting with Thanos in the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War, released in 2018.
In Avengers: Infinity War, she killed Vision by destroying the Mind Stone, but because Thanos had other stones like Time Stone already, he reversed everything and took the Mind Stone, killing Vision again.
For Wanda, Vision’s death was a traumatic event with which she couldn’t cope, so she built a world of herself with Vision and started a show called WandaVision. The miniseries, WandaVision, were premiered on Disney+. Elizabeth Olsen’s performance in WandaVision led to her nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
The character, Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, is re-emerging in the Doctor Strange franchise. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in a few days. In the sequel, Scarlet Witch is going against the former Supreme Sorcerer, Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. The fight between Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange is going to settle who is the more powerful amongst them.
Elizabeth Olsen’s Thoughts on Scarlet Witcher’s Powers
The press junket of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has begun, and Elizabeth Olsen, playing one of the leading roles in the premiere, Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch. In an interview with Netzwell, Elizabeth Olsen reveals that her character can beat anyone in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Elizabeth said, “I think Wanda can beat anyone. She’s her own worst enemy. She always has to make the choice to step back from something. I think she is the most powerful in the MCU.”
It was a while now about the argument of the strongest avenger. Initially, it was between Thor, God of Thunder, played by Chris Hemsworth, and The Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo. But when the franchise expanded, more powerful characters entered MCU, and the competition became complicated. Even Marvel Studios can’t settle this debate and announce one as the winner.
Most recently, with the release of Captain Marvel, the leading character became the most powerful as she performed a major role in defeating Thanos in the Avengers: Endgame. With the miniseries, WandaVision, Wanda Maximoff’s powers were explored at great lengths, because of which her name is often considered in the list of strongest Avengers.
In the upcoming premiere, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it is unclear whether it will answer the strongest Avenger question for the fans between (Benedict Cumberbatch) Doctor Strange’s magic spells and (Elizabeth Olsen) Scarlet Witch’s powers, but it would be an amazing experience to see Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange against each other.
