JoJo Part 7: Renewal Status + Release Date Predictions

JoJo Part 7 Steel Ball Run, when will it release?

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is one the most popular long-running anime series of all time. Unlike other mainstream shonen animes, JoJo breaks down many tropes and cliches to which we have been accustomed, bringing a different outlook to this genre.

Whether it’s the different sagas, the death of the main character, rotating protagonists, or the beginning of an alternate reality narrative, JoJo has carved out a special place in the hearts of many shonen fans.

The plot follows George Joestar and his son Jonathan who are indebted to Dario Brando after being rescued from an accident. What seemed like a lifesaving help was a façade as Dario tried to ransack their belongings, presuming they were dead.

Fast forward twelve years, and Dario is dead, leaving behind a son, Dio, who George adopts to repay his debt.

Dio is shrewd and publicly fakes affection to George, but his real motive lies elsewhere as he plots a plan to steal his wealth. To do that, Dio must create a divide between George and his son Jonathan which he does by outdoing his brother and finding a place in the Joestar family.

But Jonathan feels outcasted as Dio pushes it too far, which causes a brawl between the son and his adopted brother, where Jonathan beats Dio.

They reconcile momentarily, but when George falls ill in his later years, Dio returns with his scheming plans. The story as a whole is a modern-day epic that tells the saga of the Joestar family line starting in the 1880s and going on to the 20th and 21st centuries.

Each major story arc is called Part, which focuses on a different protagonist and supporting characters who have varying motivations creating a radically different setting.

With part six inevitable and scheduled for a renewal, JoJo Part 7 is definitely on the cards, but when will it release? To find the answer, keep scrolling as we bring you all the latest news and updates on JoJo Part 7.

Productions studios consider various consumer and financial metrics before announcing a renewal.

Before we predict the JoJo Part 7 release date, let’s check out what director Naokatsu Tsuda had to say about future installments in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series.

According to director Naokatsu Tsuda, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 is inevitable as, during a Q&A at Anime Boston, he stated his wish to see all the parts of JoJo animated. Naokatsu Tsuda mentioned that he is incredibly excited to see JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 8, i.e., JoJolion receiving an anime adaption.

Furthermore, JoJo Part 9 is officially titled JOJOLands, and Chapter 1 is scheduled to release in 2023.

While Netflix holds the streaming right, which is an essential source of revenue, they are not part of the anime production committee, which ultimately decides on future installments.

JoJo Part 7, despite debuting ten years ago, the anime should not face any problems when it comes to renewal as the series continues to remain popular, and the Stone Ocean anime was trending in the US on Netflix.

Stone Ocean made it to the top 6 in the USA and became the most-watched content in Japan, prompting the Netflix Anime Twitter account to reply with “Greatest Anime Ever.”

There is plenty of hype behind JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, but nothing can be officially confirmed until Part 6 finishes airing.

JoJo Part 7 will cover the seventh story arc, i.e., Steel Ball, which also received a patent on 22nd September 2021.

Assuming this development accelerates the production schedule, we can expect JoJo Part 7 trailer to drop in late 2023 and JoJo Part 7 release date in early 2024.
