OREGAIRU SEASON 4: CANCELLED OR RENEWED? BIG UPDATE REVEALED

OreGairu season 4 s’ future is up in smoke; can it still happen?

How did you feel when you entered your high school every morning? Did an accumulation of friends greet you? Did the girls all swarm you and fawn over what you did? Were you always the “popular” kid?

If your answer is No or maybe even Yes, there is a good chance you would have enjoyed watching Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru or My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU aka OreGairu.

OreGairu is a Romcom -slice life anime based on the Japanese light novel series My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected, written by Wataru Watari and illustrated by Ponkan8.

The plot follows high schooler Hikigaya Hachiman who is entirely rejected and remarked as “gross” by those who know him.

He does what he can to make himself unnoticeable by his classmates and doesn’t draw attention to himself. However, you can only remain a loner so long before some event comes around and forces you to end up stuck with other people.

In a typical high school, that would probably be a group project, which ends shortly, and you can return to your loner style of life, but Hikigaya isn’t so lucky.

After his essay criticizing the mentality of modern youth enrages his teacher Shizuka Hiratsuka, he is forced to join the Volunteer Service Club of the school to help solve the students’ problems in their high school life.

In the club, he meets ‘the-ice-cold-beauty,’ Yukino Yukinoshita, another loner and the ‘self-made’ Miss perfectionist, who is the healer of anyone’s problems.

Although behind all the facade and beauty covers, even this young woman has her problems which no one is aware of, nor does she want anyone to be aware of because, according to her, ‘relying on people is a weakness.

Can the two anti-social characters help the students with their problems as they confront questions of self-identity, relationships, and their future is the central plot of the show?

The series has completed three seasons, but fans have been hoping for a fourth season for a long time. Is there any chance of renewal; let’s find out as we bring you all the latest updates on OreGairu Season 4.

OreGairu anime is rated 8/10 and ranked #551 with 1.2 million members on MyAnimeList.

The series premiered on 5th April 2013 and ended on 28th June 2013. The second season aired from 3rd April 2015 till 26th June 2016. OreGairu Season 3 ran from 9th July 2020 to 24th September 2020.

At the time of writing, there will not be a season 4 of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, and the series has officially concluded; hence expecting an OreGairu Season 4 release date would be considered futile.

The official website for OreGairu has listed the third and final season of the series with six Blu-ray and DVD volume releases.

A total of 12 episodes across a range beginning in September and ending with the final volume of the series releasing in February have been mentioned on the website.

The series has always taken its time to renew new seasons. The series’ first two seasons were particularly egregious about ending on major cliff-hangers, and the third season took four years to be renewed.

Either way, Oregairu fandom would have to be content with just the three seasons. However, anime fans have learned never to say never, and there is always the possibility of another OVA or movie later down the line.

All good things must end, and OreGairu followed that narrative as the series culminated with a perfect closure.

After realizing the perceived superficiality of their club and relationships, Hachiman Hikigaya, Yukino Yukinoshita, and Yui Yuigahama confront their genuine thoughts and feelings about their situation as they finish their second year at Soubu High School.

If the anime is renewed for season four, we can expect a possible plot line featuring the characters and their final year at high school. Fans would also love to know the life of Hachiman and Yukino after graduation.
