The novelty of reincarnating in another world and going on amazing adventures has its own niche fanbase, which albeit unrelatable, tales are definitely fun to watch.
Like every year, the isekai series are prevalent, and summer 2021 was no different as the anime adaption of Yuri Kitayama s’ light novel series, Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles.
The story follows university student Haruto Amakawa who is leaving somewhere while his childhood friend Mae chan does not want him to go and is crying absurdly.
It happens to be a flashback memory of Haruko, who soon dies when a train crashes into the bus he was traveling.
Haruko opens his eyes to another world where his name is Rio, and the place refers to the kingdom of Bertram.
While Haruko has memories of his past life, he is still wondering whether the accident had any effect on him.
Haruko, aka Rio, with dual memory, is a poor boy who seeks revenge for his mother and is living alongside thugs who one day bring a captured princess inside a bag.
Rio attempts to save the princess, but in the process, a spirit appears out of now where and gives him the knowledge of using spirit arts which he uses to fight off the thugs.
The princess s’ king thanks Rio and grants him the opportunity to enroll in the Bertram Royal Academy. Rio is excited by the new chapter in his life but amidst the noble families, how will he cope.
Can Rio avenge his mother s’ death while learning the history of his bloodline is the central plot of the show.
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles season one was received with a mixed reception as many labelled it as another isekai disaster while others enjoyed the revenge conflict drama within the fantasy world.
Either way, fans of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles are wondering if there will be a second installment or not.

WHAT IS THE SEIREI GENSOUKI: SPIRIT CHRONICLES SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE?
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles season one aired from 6th July 2021 to 21st September 2021 for 12 episodes.
On 5th November 2021, the show s’ official account announced the renewal of Seirei Gensouki Season 2 and confirmed the sequel is under development with a recap video.
Unfortunately, neither Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles season 2 trailer and Seirei Gensouki Season 2 release date, was shared.

The series was renewed swiftly after the conclusion of season one, and fans were hoping to see Seirei Gensouki Season 2 by the next year, but it didn’t come to pass.
The only update the creators provided for the delay was after the announcement of the second season, wherein a statement was released revealing that the sequel would “take a little more time.”
The reason for the delay wasn’t mentioned, and no additional information has been made public since the statement.
The renewal wasn’t a massive surprise, albeit there were few negative reviews the first season did well, evidenced by its IMDB user episode ratings.

Studio TMS Entertainment is a famous production house and often takes multiple projects at a time.
Currently, 2023 is wide open for possibly Seirei Gensouki Season 2 as only Dr. Stone: New World is scheduled for release.
Considering the studio doesn’t announce any new projects, we can expect Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles season 2 to premier in the Summer of 2023.

Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv. Hobby Japan has published twenty-three volumes since October 2015 under its HJ Bunko imprint, with the latest issue released on 1st February 2023.

Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles manga is written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Futago Minaduki. It began serialization on Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire website from October 2016 to February 2017.
Due to the ill health of the mangaka, the manga had to be discontinued, but a second manga adaptation by Futago Minaduki has been serialized online via the same website since July 2017 and collected in eight volumes.

SEIREI GENSOUKI: SPIRIT CHRONICLES SEASON 2 PLOT
In the finale of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season one, “Fated Reunion,” Rio is standing in the crowd while watching Celia sitting with a heavy heart.
Rio rushes to rescue Celia as they are about to meet the rest of the nobility and the Royals. Rio attacks them and appears to be a one-person army that destroys the elite troops defeating Charles like a crumbled piece of paper.
Rio approaches them and punches Charles in the stomach, and pushes him down to his knees.
While taking Celia hostage, he communicates with her using his telepathic powers and asks her to pretend like a hostage. He hands over Celia to Aishia and escapes from all of the guards to come after him.
Celia and Aishia are waiting outside of town for Rio to arrive. When Rio and Celia reunite and are about to celebrate the rescue’s completion, they come to see some large lines emerging from the ground.
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season one covered the first five volumes of the light novel, which means Seirei Gensouki Season 2 will adapt volume 6.
Rio heads up to Amande to stock up on supplies and get intel on hero summoning. Another important mission for Rio is to find his mother s’ killer, Lucius Orgueille.
To fulfill Celia’s wish of informing her father of her safety, Rio attempts to infiltrate the Claire estate. Living on the outskirts of Amande with Aishia and Celia, he shocks Celia with his Spirit Art, spatial storage magic, and portable home.
He even reveals to Celia, his past life as a Japanese college student, but she’s more concerned that he’s mentally older than her!
