Where Is Steve Rogers AKA Captain America? Will he come back?

Ever since the release of Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Marvel’s has brought up Steve Rogers(Steve Rogers Actor)’ name many times from the very first episode which has given fans hope that they might get to see Captain America again. However, no details about the whereabouts of Steve Roger actor has been revealed. Fans are desperate to know where is Steve Rogers.

Is Steve Rogers Actor Chris Evans Not Coming Back?

From the announcement of the release of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, fans had an idea that the series will revolve around the legacy of Steve Rogers. Seeing his shield and uniform made us miss him. In an episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Bucky and Sam we’re seen having a conversation in which Sam says that Cap is gone and he’s not coming back.

With this statement, it’s clear that MCU won’t be telling about Steve Rogers’ whereabouts anytime soon.  Well, this made fans more curious and gave rise to many fan theories. Let’s have a look at all the possibilities where Steve Rogers could be.

All The Fan Theories About Steve Rogers Whereabouts

At the end of Endgame, Steve Rogers was seen going back in time to return all the Infinity Stones to their respective places. It was the last time we saw him as Captain America. He came back to the present time as an old man. This whole time travel also gave rise to many fan theories. In fact, Marvel has two official theories of their own. One from the director of Infinity War and Endgame, the Russo Brothers and the second from the scriptwriters of the movie.

According to the Russo brothers theory, when Steve time travelled to the past and returned the Infinity stones to their places he decided to stay in the past to spend time with Peggy Carter. By doing this, he created an alternate timeline that somewhat matches Marvel’s concept of time travel.

On the other hand, the scriptwriter’s theory says that when Steve decided to stay back with Peggy in the past, did everything in such a manner that won’t affect the present timeline. Peggy hid Steve from everyone that’s why nobody knew that there was two Steve in one timeline and in doing so the old Steve Rogers didn’t change anything in that timeline. When he returns from the past, he hands his shield over to Sam Wilson.

Now that we have discussed both theories, let’s think about where is Steve. If we fit the Russo brothers’ theory here then it’s possible that he went back to the timeline he came from. But we also have to consider the fact that even in that timeline Peggy Carter must have died by that time which gives him no reason to go back.

Now if we follow the scriptwriter’s theory, even if Steve Rogers was hidden in the timeline, Peggy Carter died during the events of Captain America: Civil war when in both timelines Peggy Carter had died which means wherever Steve is he’s not with Peggy.

Now the most obvious and dreaded possibility is that Steve Rogers has passed away. This possibility came from an episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier in which Sam clearly says that Cap is gone and he’s not coming back. Steve coming back as an old man from the past proves that he can age and if that’s possible then his death is also possible.

Although, there are very slim chances of this possibility because if this was the case Marvel’s would have shown it earlier. Also, in the first episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Steve’s memorial clearly states that he’s enjoying his retirement.

If Steve is enjoying his retirement then where is he? Well, there are a few places where he can be. His first choice could be Wakanda. We have seen that whenever an Avenger has needed a place to hide or stay, Wakanda has always been their first choice. Steve also took Bucky to Wakanda so he can hide there. So he may be enjoying his retirement there.

The next place where Steve Rogers could be staying is SWORD Headquarters. If you have seen WandaVision then you know who SWORD is. In WandVision we only saw the part of SWORD that handles the ground related activities but later we saw that there’s also a division that handles the space-related activities and is in charge of protecting Earth from extra-terrestrial threats.

If you saw Spiderman: Homecoming’s post-credit scene, you might know that SWORD has a base in space as well where Nick Fury was staying. So it’s possible that Steve Roger is there and helping them.

Last but not least, it’s possible that Steve maybe somewhere on the Moon. This possibility rose from the Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s first episode where very casually Torres asks Sam that is it true that Steve is on the Moon to which Sam doesn’t reply. Well, it can be true because in the Marvel comics Steve was sent to the Moon to hibernate to stop him from ageing.

Well, all we know from these theories is that Steve cannot be dead. He might not return as Captain America because Marvel’s is introducing new heroes but he’ll surely be seen in the MCU. Maybe as a mentor to the upcoming generation of superheroes. Marvel Studios has already sacrificed one of their dominant character Tony, we’re sure they won’t just lose another one.
