Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will build from the events of the last premiere released, Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprised their roles as Spider-men. In No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker was struggling to find a way out from the bad treatment his friends and loved ones are facing due to him. So he went to Doctor Strange, who did find a spell that would make everybody forget who Peter Parker was.

However, during the casting of the spell to help Peter, it went wrong because of some disturbance, and it opened up the multiverse. As a result, the biggest villains of Spider-Man ever known came to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man universe, along with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men. In the end, Doctor Strange did send all of them back to their original universes. But, the next movie, Doctor Strange 2, will cover the consequences of opening up the multiverse mistakenly by Dr. Strange in the first place and is going to explore more of the multiverse.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will witness Doctor Stephan Strange in many alternate dimensions, where one of which holds his zombie counterpart. Doctor Strange 2 can pick up the universe of the canceled X-Men: Animated Series universe, which can become another reality for him to negotiate as an animation himself. The X-Men: Animated Series, which was canceled, is set to be rebooted as X-Men’97 in the year 2023. The X-Men: Animated Series’s universe will empower one of the main characters, Wolverine, to reprise Hugh Jackman’s role in Doctor Strange 2.

The fusion of X-Men and MCU does justify the “madness” the film will explore. After all, the animated Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine return will uphold the appreciation of the actor’s hard work. As for the Wolverine role, Hugh Jackman has received many awards, such as Two Tony Awards, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Not only these, but he has also received an Academy Award Nomination and was appointed as the Queen’s Companion of the Order of Australia in the year 2019.

The last of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine ended with a tragic death; thus, the MCU shouldn’t rush with reviving the character, instead could bring him back in an animated cameo way, which would be more respectful for Hugh Jackman’s character. The Wolverine return in an animated way would complement the movie’s plot. And it is safe to expect surprises because there will definitely be a lot of them in the Multiverse of Madness, releasing on May 6, 2022.
