YURU CAMP SEASON 3 IN PRODUCTION + RELEASE DATE PREDICTIONS

Yuru Camp season 3 is officially renewed!

More often than not, anime depictions are over-the-top fantasies that one can only dream of being a part of, but that’s where your regular slice-of-life shows come in, bringing in the feelings of regular life and its freedom.

Solo camping can be fun, and it gives a sense of relaxation by going outside and taking a deep breath of fresh countryside air. It also gives you the freedom to stroll around the area without any interruption from anyone and absorb the natural surroundings.

A series that perfectly encapsulates the essence of camping is the anime adaption by C-Station of Afro s’ adventure manga series Yuru Camp. 

The story of Yuru Camp starts with camper Rin Shima who usually comes alone mainly on the base of Mount Fuji. Like most campers, Shima knows how to set up a tent, build a fire, and gather food, but unlike others, she prefers to do everything alone.

Shima s’ solitary world changes when a girl by the name of Nadeshiko Kagamihara falls asleep in public and takes shelter at Shima s’ little campsite. Nadeshiko plans to see the perfect view of mount fuji, based on a similar view on a hundred yen bill.

The following day Nadeshiko s’ sister picks her up, but before she leaves, they both exchange phone numbers, and a few days later, Nadeshiko begins attending the same school which Shima goes to.

During school time, Nadeshiko meets the members of the Outdoor Activities Club, Chiaki Ohgaki and Aoi Inuyam. 

Yuru Camp follows the camping adventures and Iyashike moments of Nadeshiko Chiaki Ohgaki and Aoi Inuyam alongside Rin Shima.

Yuru Camp is a massively popular series, and for many fans, it’s an escape from their mundane life. So much so, Yuru camp has completed two seasons, and fans were already wondering if there will be a third season and when Yuru Camp season 3 will be released.

WHAT IS THE YURU CAMP SEASON 3 RELEASE DATE?

Yuru Camp season 1 aired from 4th January 2018 to 22nd March 2018 for 12 episodes.

A short anime spin-off titled Room Camp aired from January to March 2020. A live-action drama series aired in Japan from January to March 2020, and a second drama season aired from April to June 2021 

The series was renewed for a second season which ran from 7th January 2021 to 1st April 2021 for 12 episodes. 

On 22nd October 2022, the series s’ official Twitter account announced the third season and confirmed it’s under production.To commemorate the news, the writer and illustrator of Laid-Back Camp Afro revealed a special illustration that comprises Nadeshiko Kagamihara, Inuyama Aoi, and Rin Shima, three of the five main characters of the series.

Unfortunately, the tweet didn’t accompany a Yuru Camp Season 3 trailer or Yuru Camp Season 3 release date.

Looking at the past release schedule, the series traditionally premiers in the month of January. Hence, considering this time frame and the fact that production has already begun, we can expect Yuru camp season 3 to premiere on January 2023.

YURU CAMP MANGA CATCHUP

Yuru Camp manga is written and illustrated by Afrod, and it began serialization in Time Kiarara Forward magazine in July 2015 and was transferred to Comic Fuz in 2019. 

The manga has been collected into 13 volumes, with the latest issue released on 10th November 2022. Volume 14 is scheduled to release on 10th November 2022.

As of January 2021, Yuru Camp manga has sold over 5 million and was ranked #3 on the Top Best-Selling Manga 7th March-13th March 2022 in Japan. Additionally, Yuru Camp Blu-ray and DVD copies have sold over 80,000 in cumulative sales.

Yuru Camp manga is rated 8.3/10 and ranked #206 with 15k members on MyAnimeList.

YURU CAMP SEASON 3 PLOT

In the final episode of Yuru Camp season 2,” I’m Home,” it’s the last day of the Izu Peninsula trip, and the group enters Lida’s wineshop. Lid s’ daughter travels with the group to Mount Omuro, where they see capybaras in the hot spring at the Shaboten Zoo. 

Back home, Nadeshiko worries about Rin, who isn’t responding to her text due to heavy traffic. Rin eventually arrives in Minobu, and the girls decide to remanence about the Izu trip.

The second season covered from volumes 5 -9th of the manga series, which means there is sufficient source material left for the third season.

Yuru Camp season 3 will pick up from where season two left off and begin by adapting the 10th Volume of the manga. After the Izu trip, the group is already planning for their next adventure. 

Ena suggests a campout in her backyard with grill sausages as the main delicacy. However, Rin has other ideas which involve a two-person road trip.

Yuru Camp is directed by Yoshiaki Kyougoku and written by Jin Tanaka. Characters are designed by Mutsumi Sasaki, and the music is composed by Akiyuki Tateyama. Animation is developed by C-Station, and the series is licensed by Crunchyroll.
