The story is set in a period wherein the Fourth Industrial Revolution has allowed for modern cutting-edge technologies to take shape, and as a result, the world has evolved to a futuristic view.
Due to this advancement, schools worldwide have incorporated these technologies and their uses into the curriculum, thus leaving behind old ways.
Among the many schools which follow this curriculum is the elite Yuyu Girls’ Vocational High School, wherein two childhood friends, Serufu Yua and Miku “Purin” Suride, have applied for admission.
Purin is tech-savvy, well-versed with modern technologies, and consequently gets accepted into YuYu high. Meanwhile, Serufu is a ditzy daydreamer and messed up her quizzes, leading to rejection as she joins Gatagata Girls’ High School.
Purin is frustrated as she wants them to attend the same school, but Serufu s’ failure upsets her, which causes friction in their friendship.
While going to school one day, Serufu is involved in a bike accident as she crashes her bike but finds a helping hand in the form of third-year student Rei Kurei Yasuku who fixes her bike.
Later, Serufu finds out that Rei is a part of the school s’ Do it Yourself club and holds a key interest in old-fashioned craft, but due to a lack of members, it’s on the verge of closing.
Finding a window opportunity, Serufu decides to join and revive the DIY club to build things and repair her friendship with Purin.

Speaking of studio Pine Jam, their upcoming release schedule looks instead packed with series like Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible and Paradox Live, the Animation scheduled for the 2023 release.Furthermore, Pine Jam has yet to produce any sequels for its past releases, which could be of some concern.

Do it Yourself anime is directed by Kazuhiro Yoneda and scripted by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. Characters are designed by Yuusuke Matsuo, who is also the animation director.
Music is composed by Ryohei Sataka, while Hozumi Goda is the sound director. Animation is produced by Studio Pine Jam with colour design from Yusji Sakagami and Art setting by Yuka Okamoto.
