Why Peter Didn’t Keep His Promise To MJ In No Way Home’s Ending
Peter Parker said, “I promise I’ll fix this” to Michelle Jones, MJ, right before everyone was going to forget Peter Parker.
Spider-Man No Way Home, the new premier, recently released showing the adventures of Peter Parker and Doctor Strange in the multiverse. At the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mysterio, the villain in that movie, disclosed the identity of Spider-Man, as Peter Parker to the whole world, which made Peter’s life difficult.
No Way Home picks up from the point where the whole world knows who Spider-Man is and is guilty of murdering Mysterio. Because of this, the colleges are not letting him and his friends study further, and he fears that people are punishing MJ and Ned Leeds to be his friends.
Peter goes to Doctor Strange to solve his problem and asks him to do something, so everyone will forget who Spider-Man is. While casting the spell, Peter Parker disturbs Doctor Strange by requesting that his friends and his aunt should remember. The disturbance leads to altering the spell, which results in opening the door of the multiverse.
Because of the wrongs of the spell, all the supervillains from another universe, who know about Peter Parker being Spider-Man, come into his universe to take revenge. The other versions of Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire also enter Tom Holland’s universe to help him fight those villains.
At the end of the fight, when Doctor Strange is trying to send the villains back to their universe, Tom Holland, Peter Parker finds himself guilty of the events and asks Doctor Strange to cast one final spell where the whole world will forget about him being spiderman.
Peter Parker Promises Michelle Jones, MJ
At the end of Spider-Man No Way Home, Peter Parker says goodbyes to the other versions of Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, before the final spell. Peter also promises his girlfriend, Michelle Jones, MJ, and his best friend Ned Leeds that he will come and find them after the spell.
When everything got resolved, Peter Parker did try to meet MJ and Ned Leeds entering into the coffee shop MJ works in, and there Ned was sitting too. But he was shown to buy something and then go away, not keeping his promise.
Peter walks away from his friends because he saw Michelle Jones and Ned Leeds talking about being selected to come into MIT, their dream college to study further. Peter Parker in the premier never mentioned the reason; however, it is obvious that he thinks about his friends’ happiness first.
Only because of the connection between Peter Parker and MJ and Ned Leeds, all of their lives change when Spider-Man’s identity got revealed to the whole world. Due to this, all three of them suffered rejection from the colleges to study further. MIT being their dream college, all of them felt sad for not getting into it.
At the end of Spider-Man No Way Home, when Peter Parker finds out that his former girlfriend Michelle Jones, MJ, and best friend Ned Leeds got into their dream college MIT, he decides not to remind them about him and go into a different path.
