Big Sony Announcement: Venom 3 Confirmed
The last part of Venom: Let There Be Carnage was a box office hit, because of which Sony has announced the Venom 3 premiere is officially happening.
A popular American Superhero film series, Venom, has released two-part to date. It is based on a Marvel character named Eddie Brock, aka Venom, who is a sentient alien Symbiote who survives by bonding with a host, preferably a human. The premier, Venom, was released in 2018; the first part, which was directed by Ruben Fleischer, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, aka Venom. Eddie Brock, before getting connected with a Symbiote, Venom, was a struggling journalist who gained superpowers afterward.
The first Venom appearance happened in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 3, directed by Sam Raimi. In which Venom, the Symbiote, first latched itself on Peter Parker, showing Peter’s negative role for a while. At the end, when Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man ends Venom, Eddie Brock connects with it because of his greed for power. However, Sony didn’t move forward with this issue, as the Spider-Man 3 was the last part of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man franchise.
The leading movie of Tom Hardy as Venom received a lot of positive response, because of which the second part, Venom: Let There Be Carnage released last year, 2021. The second premiere was delayed a lot because of the inevitable global pandemic, but when it was finally released, it was a box office hit.
The second film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, included a post-credit scene where it opened a wide door for its next installment, Venom 3. There are people who are asking, ‘is there Venom in Spider-Man 3?’
Well, the Marvel fans always know to wait till the end, as there are post-credit scenes at the end of every Marvel movie. The Eddie Brock character, aka Venom, was present in the first post-credit scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he asks for the wall-crawler, Spider-Man. The post-credit scene teed Venom up for its exciting future in MCU.
Will There Be A Venom 3?
The last appearance of Eddie Brock, aka Venom, in Spider-Man 3, the last MCU movie released in December 2021. Spider-Man’s one the old enemies are Venom, which has been shown in Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man series. As a result of watching Venom 2 and witnessing Venom at the end of No Way Home, the fans wanted another movie of Venom, particularly with Spider-Man.
Sony has officially announced that Venom 3 is on its way; nothing other than this has been shared. Not even Venom 3 release date; we don’t have any idea when it will be released. This year, 2021, only two movies are to be released, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 6 and Thor Love & Thunder on July 8. But the next year, 2023, would be a big year for Sony’s Marvel content, as Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s ‘Kraven The Hunter,’ Dakota Johnson’s ‘Madame Web’ and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in the next year.
The official confirmation of Venom 3 indicates Sony’s plans for building the Spider-Man universe. However, no writer, director, or cast details are shared, but it is for sure that Tom Hardy will be leading the movie as Eddie Brock, aka Venom.
With almost no details uncovered about Venom 3, Sony would probably approach Andy Serkis to see if he would like to direct the next part of the Venom series, Venom 3, as his movie received a lot of positive reviews. If Andy disagrees because of other commitments, then the Studio has to look for other options.
The Venom 3 cast around the leading actor Tom Hardy could include Michelle Williams’ Anne Weying, as she played one of the most important roles in the previous installments. The exciting part the fans are expecting to see in the Venom 3 would be if Tom Hardy’s Venom interacts with Spider-Man, played by either Tom Holland or Andrew Garfield, or maybe someone else. Nonetheless, the Venom 3 would complete the trilogy of the Venom series.
