Doctor Strange 2: Tobey Maguire Spider Man Might Appear in Multiverse
A new photo was posted on social media, hinting at the appearance of Tobey Maguire Spider-Man version in Doctor Strange 2, the madness of the multiverse.
The recently released MCU adventure touching the doors of the multiverse is Spider-Man: No Way Home, where all the versions of Spider-Man, Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire have shown together fighting with the supervillains in the history of MCU. The fight of all versions of Spider-Man on one screen was sensational.
Tobey Maguire, along with Andrew Garfield, reprised his role by joining hands with Tom Holland in No Way Home. Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man was the first Spider-Man movie released on screen in the year 2002. The movie was directed by Sam Raimi, who bought the franchise of Spider-Man from Marvel because Spider-Man was the most popular superhero in Marvel Comics.
The journey of Tobey Maguire, aka Peter Parker, becoming the Spider-Man was mind-blowing. Although Sam Raimi does modify some of the details from the comics, the viewers were in love with this web-slinger. Sam Raimi released three premieres of Tobey Maguire in the role of Spider-Man, a trilogy that ended in the year 2007.
Since 2007, Tobey Maguire hasn’t been seen in the movies related to Marvel Comics. But in the year 2021, last year, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man version popped up again, creating an amazing event in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up from the time when the whole world is aware of Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker being Spider-Man, and some evidence suggests that he is a murderer. Because of this, Peter faced a lot of challenges, one of the major challenges was his friends were rejected the admission to their dream college, MIT, because of Peter.
Peter tries to find a solution because their future is at stake because of him, so he thinks of Doctor Strange. He went to the Sanctum in New York to meet Doctor Strange and shared his problem. Doctor Strange finds out a spell to solve all of his problems, but the spell goes in the wrong direction, which opens up the multiverse, and all the villains Spider-Man ever had, came to Tom Holland’s universe.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield popped up on the screen to help Tom Holland fight with the supervillains and send them back to their universes, and the rest is history. The appearance gave a little hint towards the desire of Tobey Maguire to return with the Marvel Superheros.
After this premiere, another exciting adventure of the multiverse will be released this year, Doctor Strange in the Madness of Multiverse.
Tobey Maguire Appearing in Doctor Strange 2
Doctor Strange 2 premiere’s rumor started when Mariana Torres (Scarlet Witch’s Portuguese voice actress) posted a photo on her official Instagram account that included herself and Manolo Rey (Tobey Maguire’s voice actor).
With the photo, she posted a caption that said, “Good things are coming.”
It should be noted that there hasn’t been any release of official information to confirm Tobey Maguire’s appearance in Doctor Strange 2. Before the post, the appearance of Tobey Maguire, Spider-Man was just an incident of fan-casting.
Although, thinking upon his presence in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the direction the movie takes on Doctor Strange’s adventure in the multiverse, there is a likelihood that MCU can fix up a shot of Tobey Maguire in Phase 4 of Multiverse.
The director of Doctor Strange 2 is the same person who directed Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man movie, Sam Raimi. He may have decided to pop Tobey Maguire up in Doctor Strange’s sequel. Although, this can be a great way to reunite Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi after a long period of time, 15 years.
The rumor might be true with a few theories, but now the question is if Tobey Maguire will appear in Doctor Strange 2, what role can Tobey Maguire Spider-Man play in the narrative? It is hard to find out about Tobey Maguire Spider Man’s role in the movie. However, his shot won’t possibly be long enough, but rather a brief cameo.
A short presence of Tobey Maguire in Doctor Strange 2 will be more than enough to be the cause of great joy in the hearts of fans. And his appearance might bring back the nostalgia of his role from Spider-Man: No Way Home.
