Moon Knight Episode 3: Fully Dedicated to Anton Mogart – RIP (Gaspard Ulliel)

The new Marvel Studios series, Moon Knight Episode 3, focuses entirely on Anton Mograt, a character played by Gaspard Ulliel; here’s the reason why?

Marvel Studios is producing a lot of new series with Disney+. Recently released, the sixth series of MCU is Moon Knight. The series is created by Jeremy Slater and includes the main character, Marc Spector, aka Moon Knight, which is played by Oscar Isaac. The leading character, Marc Spector, is a mercenary who has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), because of which he presents various personalities of Egyptian gods.

The Moon Knight Series was released on Disney+ in March 2022, and it is receiving a lot of positive reviews about it. The two episodes of this series have been released already, and the first season will include six episodes which will be released on 4 May. Gaspard Ulliel played the role of Anton Mogart, who doesn’t appear until the half of Moon Knight Episode 3. Anton Mogart is shown as one of Layla’s old contacts from the adventures of Madripoor. Layla El-Faouly, played by May Calamway, is an archeologist and an adventurer, who is Spector’s wife, and aware of his Moon Knight personality.

Marvel Studios has linked Moon Knight with MCU through the reference to the fictional island Madripoor, the only point. Marvel Studios has decided not to add post-credits scenes in the first half of the season. As one season would include six episodes, the last episode, Moon Knight Episode 3, has something in its credits. As a tribute to Gaspard Ulliel, a title card appears at the end of episode 3, saying that this episode is dedicated to Gaspard Ulliel’s debut in MCU.

The reason for the title card at the end of episode 3 is because of Gaspard Ulliel’s death, a shocking accident. Gaspard died while skiing in the mountains of the French Alps during the time he was filming the role of Anton Mogart. The actor, Gaspard Ulliel, died on 19 January 2022 by crashing into a fellow skier. When he crashed into a fellow skier, he suffered a serious brain injury which led to the spot death. Gaspard was only 37 years old when this accident happened. Moon Knight Episode 3 is his last episode on screen, and that’s the reason why Marvel dedicated the whole episode to the talented and award-winning French Actor, Gaspard Ulliel.

It’s not the first time Marvel Studios made this kind of gesture, as in the What If..? Series, episode 2 was dedicated to the Black Panther actor, Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick’s death in 2020 was a tragic incident, and everyone felt a great loss hearing it. Once Marvel changed Marvel Studios’ opening from Captain America to Stan Lee as a tribute to the legendary comics writer. Moon Knight’s Episode 3 is another kind gesture of expressing their gratitude for Gaspard Ulliel’s work and, at the same time recognizing his talents in his final screen appearances.

However, there’s no information about whether this was the only episode Gaspard was in, as the fact that his death happened after or during the filming is still unknown. Moon Knight Episode 3 might not be the only one Gaspard Ulliel is in. There’s a possibility that he might appear in the last three episodes left, as Gaspard Ulliel will appear in the movie ‘Plus que jamais’ by Emily Atef in the year 2020, which is his last confirmed movie.
