Crazy anime girl acting as a secret assassin coupled with a phycological thriller, yeah, we will have some of that in the form of Talentless Nana. While the title may seem offbeat towards the character Nana, we assure you it’s the opposite.
Talentless Nana is a suspense-phycological thriller anime based on the writings of Looseboy. The plot is set in a world where mysterious monsters called “Enemies of Humanities” have begun to appear.
To combat these monsters, children with superpowers have also started growing up who are labeled as “Talented .”The “Talented” children are sent to an island that houses their basic needs and prepares them to fight against the Enemies of Humanities.
The island trains many children, but one day a girl named Nana Hiiragi arrives at the school and blends in quickly with her eccentric personality by making new friends.
In reality, she is a talentless government assassin sent to wipe out the Talented, who are deemed the real Enemies of Humanity. Can she be successful in her mission is the central plotline of the show.
Talentless Nana season one was well received by the fans, especially the reverse murder mystery trope, i.e., finding out how the murderer plans his kills rather than who the murderer could be in the show.
Since the first season ended, fans have been demanding Talentless Nana season 2. Is the show renewed, and when is it coming out?

WILL TALENTLESS NANA BE RENEWED FOR SEASON 2?
The first season of Talentless Nana ran from 4th October 2020 till 27th December 2020 for 12 episodes.
As of July 2022, there is no update either from the creator or the studio on a renewal for the second season.
While there may be no update from the studio, we can always look into their release schedule to figure out the renewal status of Talentless Nana. [Spoiler]It doesn’t look good.
The anime television series is adapted by Studio Bridge, known for doing fewer but big projects in a year. If we glance at their studio releases before and after Talentless Nana, it’s evident that Bridge works on a maximum of two shows a year.
The following two shows under production are Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush (currently running since 3rd April) and Pon Qiao Booth(TBA).
We would also like to point out that Fairy Tail, a massively popular fantasy-adventure anime, was also adapted by Studio Bridge. They are in contention to adapt its sequel Fairy Tail:100-year Quest sometime in Fall 2022.
Unless Bridge plans to do a Talentless Nana season 2 right away, the chances of renewal for the show currently look bleak.
Unfortunately, fans hoping for a Talentless Nana season 2 release date would surely be disappointed. Still, there is always a hope that a different studio may pick up the show for a second season.
TALENTLESS NANA MANGA CATCHUP
Talentless manga is written by Looseboy and illustrated by Iori Furuya. It was first serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan on 12th May 2016.
As of February 2022, there have been 9 volumes have been published. The first volume was released on 22nd January 2017, and the final volume came out on 12th February 2022.
The first season of Talentless Nana adopted only four volumes of the manga, meaning five volumes are available as source material for season 2.
Also, the manga is still ongoing, and a new volume is released every 7-8 months.
The manga has sold a total of 97,000 copies which in comparison is average to other series. It was ranked in the top 500 selling mangas three weeks after the anime was released.
TALENTLESS NANA SEASON 2 PLOT
The final episode of Talentless nana season one, “Revival,” left the show on a cliffhanger. Nana is consoled and reassured by Michiru that she is not responsible for her parents’ death. They share a hug as Nana feels happy as she finally makes a friend.
Her happiness soon disappears as Jin tells her that Michiru will be the next target as Kyoya uncovers the killer s’ identity.
She reveals that Rentaro is the killer who has projected his body to kill Michiru. Michiru is moments away from getting killed, only for Nana to intervene and get stabbed in the back instead.
Nana smiles and tells him that they have set traps to capture him. Rentaro is distracted by the thought of the trap as Kyoya finds the real Rentaro hiding in the toiler. He starts choking and threatening to stop his charade.
Michiru heals Nana, but he gets drained out of all his powers in the process. In the final scene, Nana, now fully healed, looks toward to ocean filled with sadness. The episode ends with a montage of Nana and Michiru s’ friendship as Nana hugs his unconscious body of Michiru.
Talentless Nana season 2 will be from Chapter 29 of the fifth volume, i.e., the Invisible Blade Arc. Sorano Fuuko s’ action will be of vital interest along with other murder mysteries.
The second season will introduce new characters, one of which will be an agent who will send to keep Nana under check.
