Kim Bodnia & Henry Cavill Crying on the Set
In their interview, it turns out both of them have a special bond with each other, and they inspire one another to do the role perfectly. One thing both of them talked about is crying on the sets of the Witcher Series.
Kim Bodnia had a similar background experience as that of Vesemir; he said addressing Henry Cavill, “I lived in the forest for twenty years, and when I was done telling you about my antics traveling and how it is to really be alone you said ‘You are Vesemir’.”
Kim shares, “I trained every day in a new way of crying. And that’s why I have to travel inside my life, because you don’t know if there is more to cry about.”
Then Henry Cavill replied, “I have this thing, yes, absolutely. Once I’ve used something, I’ve used it. And then I’ve dealt with it, I’ve emotionally processed it because I’ve been crying all day on set.”
Witcher Henry Cavill and Kim Bodnia express their struggles to express their emotions while in the act, as Kim stated that as men aren’t able to express their emotions in their daily lives and then while shooting emotional expression becomes a bit of a challenge.
Kim Bodnia also talked about becoming a better person day by day, as he shares that the job teaches him something every day, and everyday learning makes him a new and better person. The two of them were discussing the emotional side of their characters, which is presented in the Series.
During the filming of emotional scenes of Vesemir and Geralt, Henry Cavill says, “These [are] two incredibly dangerous individuals, I know in some scenes they didn’t make the cut, but the softness we brought to that connection, just resting our heads against each other’s heads, it just made so much sense because you can’t really fake that.”
Henry Cavill mentions that Kim Bodnia helped him create a family for Geralt, as in season 1, Geralt was on his own; with Vesemir entering the screen, it felt a little like home. After knowing about the emotional side of the characters and the actor, the fans of the Witcher Series would like to see more of Geralt and Vesemir’s pair in the upcoming season, The Witcher Season 3.
