In the upcoming season, The Witcher Season 3, there is a piece of big news for Yennefer, as her magic is back.
The Witcher Series, a big sensation in the hearts of the fans, is now expanding. It all started with a short story written only for the purpose of winning a competition by a Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski. As the story got into competition and the readers loved it, more were in demand, and so did the saga of the Witcher started.
Andrzej Sapkowski has now written many short stories and novels, which have a huge fan base. On the basis of the books, video games were created on the Witcher World to give the audience a more visual experience, and the response was mesmerizing. The next thing we know, card games and animated movies were started too. The world loved each and everything and demanded more.
In the year 2019, The Witcher series was released on Netflix, and thanks to Lauren S. Hissrich’s idea of making it in English, the whole world can access it and be a part of it. The Witcher Season 1 was released with eight episodes, and the viewers fell in love with the characters. The Witcher Season 2 ended with the biggest revelation of the White Flame, who turned out to be Princess Cirilla’s dead father, not dead. Duny, Emhyr Var Emeris, Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Ciri’s father, who was told died in an accident along with her mother, Princess Pavetta. And the whole Continent was shown to be planning to come after Ciri because of her unlimited, dangerous powers.

The three main characters of the Witcher series are Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher, played by Henry Cavill; Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful mage, played by Anya Chalotra; and Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Ciri, a child with Elder Blood, played by Freya Allan. The whole narrative of the Witcher series revolves around these three characters, who have joined their paths together, atleast for a while, as shown at the end of Witcher Season 2.
Now about the new update on Yennefer of Vengerberg, she was shown without being able to do magic in the whole of Witcher Season 2. Struggling to find meaning in her life without magic, Yennefer of Vengerberg did many unexpected things. When Yennefer was without magic, she was taken as weak, and the council put a bounty on her head. To get her magic back, she met with one of the biggest villains, The Deathless Mother, Voleth Meir.
Yennefer was asked to deliver Ciri in return for her magic, and she, without her chaos, didn’t think she could survive in this cruel world, so she agreed to that bargain with the Deathless Mother. Yennefer betrayed Geralt and Ciri’s trust and was on the verge of delivering Ciri to Deathless Mother, but in the end, she didn’t. Nonetheless, Deathless Mother got in control of Ciri’s body and brought hell on Kaer Morhen.
Yennefer realized her mistake and tried to correct it by helping Ciri get in control and making Voleth Meir leave her body; at one point, she also sacrificed herself to save Ciri. In the end, Ciri does get in control of her body and, with her powers, takes Voleth Meir out. Geralt realized how much damage had been done and decided to take a journey away from Kaer Morhen with Ciri, and Yennefer decided to go with them.
Nonetheless, there is a piece of huge news for the fans, as Yennefer of Vengerberg will be getting her magic truly back. According to Redanian Intelligence, Anya Chalotra, the actress playing the character, Yennefer of Vengerberg, shot a scene in front of a blue screen in a studio where she was doing some magic. However, the purpose of the scene remains a mystery, but knowing Yennefer’s magic is fully restored is amazing.
The Witcher Season 3 release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it is likely to be released around October or September 2022. With the new and exciting character and the information about Yennefer of Vengerberg getting her magic back, the Witcher Season 3 would be huge.
