Witcher Season 2: Tissaia De Veris Wants Ciri & Yennefer Dead, Why?
Tissaia loved and supported Yennefer throughout the Witcher Series, but now she wants Yennefer and Ciri to be dead – why?
The Witcher Series, the inculcation of drama, horror, politics, and fantasy scattered over the lives of the people on the Continent, was released on Netflix in the year 2019. The Witcher series revolves around three main characters introduced in different timelines.
Inspired by Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, the three leading characters are Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher, who hunts monsters to earn a living; Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful sorcerer, who had struggled a lot because of her physical deformity but later transformed herself into a beautiful being; and Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Ciri, a young girl who have lost her family, hiding from the army of Nilfgaard and fining Geralt, her destiny.
The whole series follows through the horrifying adventures of these three characters who are struggling to save their lives. Ciri, unaware of her powers, possesses the potential to end the whole world, which is because of Elder Blood running in her veins. A prophecy was said that the child with Elder Blood could either save or end the whole world.
The Witcher Season 1 was focused on Ciri and Geralt reuniting as it was destined, along with Yennefer, on the other hand, learning magic and becoming the most powerful mage on the Continent. The Witcher Season 2 entailed the journey of Ciri and Geralt going to Kaer Morhen, Geralt’s hometown, to train Ciri and try making her control her powers. Yennefer, in season 2, was shown without her magic and struggling to find meaning in her life again.
In the Witcher Season 2, Triss Merigold, a fellow mage of Yennefer, visits Kaer Morhen and tries to help Ciri control her powers. But in return, Triss figures out that Ciri is a child with Elder Blood, and she would possibly make the old prophecy true and end their world. At the end of the Witcher Season 2, everyone was aware of Ciri’s powers and wanted to get their hands on her for their own advantage.
Tissaia Wants Ciri Dead – Witcher Season 2
In the Witcher Season 2, Tissaia De Veris got to know about Ciri through Triss. Triss told the information in confidence and promised that she wouldn’t share it with anyone else, but she did. The secret got out, and Vilgefortz learned about it. Vilgefortz influenced Tissaia that keeping Ciri alive is a big risk that could fulfill the prophecy and end the world.
Tissaia then exposed that Sigmund Dijkstra had known about Ciri all along and planned to marry Ciri off to King Vizimir, which would give him Cintra’s throne. It was clarified that Ciri’s not only dangerous because of her Elder Blood and magic but also because of her royal lineage. The information led to the council putting a bounty on Ciri’s head.
In the finale, Ciri was with Geralt and Yennefer, because of which the bounty on Ciri’s head got extended to both of them too. Not much information is given if Tissaia was aware of this decision or not, but Tissaia was fond of Yennefer.
Tissaia got Yennefer in Aretuza to learn magic and get away from her cruel step-father. Their relationship was a complication, as it had both love and hate versions, but they both counted on each other when they needed it the most. However, truth to be told, both Tissaia and Yennefer were stubborn, and neither of them liked each other’s decisions they made.
Tissaia and Yennefer were in their life’s most important decisions and won’t jeopardize their ambitions or love for each other. Both are on opposite sides, as Yennefer wants to gain Geralt’s trust again, and Tissaia wants an important position on the council.
It will be interesting when Tissaia becomes aware of the updated news on the bounty front, which would probably be covered in the Witcher Season 3. Yennefer & Ciri’s fate will be witnessed in the next season, and Tissaia might get a chance to prove her love and caring to Yennefer, and she is more than her power.
