Friends is a famous comedy TV show revolving around six friends, and while all the six characters are the main stars of the show (ross geller)and shared the limelight, it sometimes felt like the Ross and Rachel’s duo were the heart of the show. Ross Geller friends character was one of the most entertaining and beloved characters of the show. His character was an open book throughout most of the show, but there are still a few things about him that we never truly understood. In this article, we are going to discuss some of those things.
10. Why did Ross sleep with the Xerox girl?
We have seen Chandler and Joey talk about a certain Xerox girl from the early seasons of friends, but who could have imagined that it would be Ross Geller who would hook up with her.
Even if Ross thought that Rachel was cheating on him with Mark, it was still shocking for a nice guy like him to make such an outrageous move. It may be logistically accurate that he and Rachel were on a break, but it still doesn’t change the fact that what he did to Rachel was wrong.
9. Not taking full responsibility for his actions.
Soon after Ross and Rachel broke up, it looked like they could overcome their differences. However, after finding out what Rachel wrote in that incredibly long letter that is taking full responsibility for their breakup, Ross let his ego come in the way of their relationship.
Instead of getting back together, they both broke up for the second time, and this time it didn’t seem easy to sort out their differences and reconcile.
8. Mocking Ross For his Divorces
We all know about Ross’ luck in marriages as he had to go through divorce three times with three different women – Carol, Emily, and Rachel. The first two divorces were quite serious as they influenced his personal life for quite some time, but his friends always found his divorces funny and teased him relentlessly about them.
Most of the time, Ross took the teasing to his heart, and it always felt like the kind of unnecessary joke. He should be proud that three different women loved him enough to marry him.
7. Making fun of Phoebe’s beliefs
Phoebe has her own unique beliefs, including that her mother lives in the spirit of a cat. While many of her friends decide to go along with her, Ross sticks to his fundamental beliefs.
Like a good friend, he should be encouraging her, but he chose to be a realist and always tried to prove her wrong instead. But luckily, Pheobe was a brave and sassy woman and always put Ross in his place, reminding him that he can’t tell Pheobe how to live her life. It was indeed an empowering moment.
6. Lack of Ben’s Presence
Though we saw Ben on many different occasions throughout the ten seasons of friends, it wasn’t enough. As an essential part of Ross’ life, his appearances grew less and less as the years went on. There’s no doubt that he was a good father and cared deeply for his son, But sometimes it felt that he prioritized his friends and that never made sense to the audience.
If there were a few spins off episodes revolving around Ross and Ben’s relationship, this wouldn’t be an issue.
5. How he tolerated Susan’s attitude
Susan met Carol while she was still married to Ross and started a relationship with her. Despite being the 3rd person in Ross and Carol’s relationship, she was always insulting and mean to Ross for most of the ten seasons. She had no reason to be this rude and mean to Ross as she was, and her behavior never changed towards Ross throughout the show.
Whenever Ross tried to have some quality time with his son or Carol, it seemed like Susan waited to ruin it for him.
4. Ross was having trouble with Joey and Rachel.
Understandably, seeing one of his best friends kiss his ex-girlfriend must not have been an easy task for Ross, but it’s not like Joey lied to him. Just like any good friend, Joey told Ross the truth about having feelings for Rachel.
However, Ross couldn’t get over the new relationship of Joey and Rachel and made a fool of himself in front of his friends and his current partner at that time while he was incredibly drunk. He should have been happy for them and himself about his new relationship, but he still dwelled on what he believed to be a betrayal.
3. The Geller Cup
As we all know, the Geller siblings are pretty competitive about certain things. The Geller cup was the price given to the winner of the Geller bowl. Given how intelligent and creative Ross was, We can’t believe that he couldn’t create a better trophy that looked somewhat nice than what we saw in the show.
Looks like the Geller siblings only cared about the importance of winning the championship, and to some people, it may appear adorable. Still, luckily we are not convinced with that idea.
2. Ugly Naked Guy
Ross is desperate to get the ugly naked guy’s apartment once he moves out of it, but we didn’t know that he was this desperate that he promise to hang out with the ugly naked guy with both of them being naked for an entire evening. While this might be very difficult for Ross but we still don’t understand why he was so desperate he could have gotten any other apartment.
