Breaking Bofuri Season 2 Has Some Major Update + Season 2 Delayed New Date Confirmed

Bofuri Season 2 returns as the gaming adventure continue; let’s Level Up!

The crossover of gaming and anime has always given us popular shows in recent times. The fantasy of creating characters, upgrading weapons, and interacting with friends is more fun in reality than behind a keyboard. Thanks to technology, these fantasies are possible with concepts like VRMMORPG.

Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, or just Bofuri is the latest anime to bring this crossover on screen. Written by Yuumikan and created by Silver Link Studios, Bofuri follows the adventure of Maple in the VRMMORPG game New World Online.

Kaede Honjō is requested by her friend Risa Shiramine to try out the game New World Online. She enters the game under the alias Maple and maxes out her defense stats while compromising her Speed and Attack.

With her unique stat distribution, Maple must find creative ways to beat different bosses and level up simultaneously. How she makes friends and fights against other guilds is the central plot of Bofuri.

Bofuri season one was one of the hits in the pandemic release. Since season one ended, expectations for Bofuri Season 2 have been high and exciting.

Fortunately, we have some good news for the show fans, so let’s jump in and find out all the details regarding Bofuri season 2.

According to Bofuri’s Twitter tweet on 9th January 2021, the show has officially been renewed for a second season. This confirmation came on the first anniversary of the show.

The highly anticipated second season of the popular anime series, BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, has finally started airing. Fans of the show have been eagerly waiting for its return since the first season ended in 2020. The new season picks up where the first season left off and promises to deliver even more action, adventure, and humor.

BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense follows the story of Kaede Honjou, a novice gamer who creates a character named Maple in a virtual reality game called NewWorld Online. However, instead of going for a balanced character build, Maple decides to maximize her defense, making her practically invincible. As she embarks on her adventures, she encounters various challenges, battles monsters, and makes new friends.

Bofuri’s final episode, “Defence and Bonds,” saw the Maple Tree Guild take on the Sword Guild’s Order in a fight to steal each other’s orbs. Maple is left with one HP and is battling Payne, who is dealing heavy blows to her defense.

She manages to withstand his attacks and invokes her Atrocity form. Payne finds her new form too much to handle as he is beaten easily. Maple Tree guild finishes in third place, and Maple attracts stronger characters and guilds after seeing her power.

The episode ends with both Flame Emperor and Holy Sword guild congratulating Maple Tree and watching back the highlights of their battle in celebration.

Bofuri Season 2 has yet to release any storyline, but that doesn’t stop us from expecting new things. Firstly, we hope there are more monster companions like we did with the fox and turtle in season one, and this adds more depth and dynamism to the character.

Maple Tree Guild already looks overpowered with all bases covered from Defence, Attack, and Speed. But the guild size is still small, so we do expect that more members will join Maple tree to make it stronger.

There were many new competitions in Bofuri season one, and Bofuri season 2 should follow the same suit. Fans would like to see characters brawling out in different environments like underwater or against even more frightening monsters.

Despite the overpowered MC trope, Maple has a new form, making her an absolute beast. Bofuri season 2 should give new forms to Sally and Kasume, who are equally strong characters. This would eventually mean Maple guild will be a force to reckon with after acquiring the new abilities.

Although the Bofuri characters are in virtual reality, it will be interesting to see how they are in real life. Fans would like to know how much character alteration is from the online game to the real world.

Finally, Bofuri Season one had Maple undefeated as the show’s overall tone felt inconsequential. We expect Bofuri Season 2 to increase the stakes, such as losing could result in a time-out at the base.

Maple s’ defeat is also expected as an overpowered MC can make the show repetitive. This is very important in character development and keeping the interest maintained throughout the season.
