Doctor Strange 2 Trailer Uncover: Scarlet Witch Captured Stephan Strange

The recently released official trailer of Doctor Strange 2 hints at a small detail where Scarlet Witch has captured Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the upcoming premiere of phase 4 of the multiverse, is on its way and will be released in theaters on May 6, 2022. The premiere will be the sequel of Doctor Strange, released in the year 2016, introducing Dr. Stephen Strange in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The sequel, Doctor Strange 2, will cover the events from the last MCU movie, Spider Man: No Way Home and the end of the series WandaVision released on Disney+. In the film No Way Home, Doctor Strange casts a spell to help Peter Parker, but the spell goes sideways, resulting in the opening of the multiverse. However, in the end, Strange does make it right, but the chaos it started will be covered in phase 4, Doctor Strange 2.

From the series of WandaVision, Scarlet Witch will be back in MCU, which was shown in the teaser and trailer of the sequel. When the madness of the multiverse started, Doctor Strange sought help from Scarlet Witch and asked about her knowledge of the multiverse. The recently released trailer doesn’t reveal much about the kind of relationship Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange have in the premier.

Marvel Studios, on the heels of infinity saga, will be rebuilding the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it is transitioning through phase 4 of the multiverse. In the Avengers: Endgame, the founding heroes of the MCU are no longer active, Iron Man died, and Captain America Retired at the end of Endgame. The franchise might be thinking about either introducing new ones or focusing more on the existing ones, like Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch.

In the MCU series on Disney+, WandaVision, the focus was on Wanda and on how her traumatic experiences shaped her life and her actions. At the end of the series, Wanda was shown choosing the path of healing; it seems like that’s not the choice she kept, as revealed in the official trailer of Doctor Strange 2.

Doctor Strange 2: Wanda Villain

During Super Bowl LVI, the marketing of the Doctor Strange 2 started, as the first trailer of Sam Raimi’s directed movie was released. The clip of Doctor Strange 2 had a lot of Easter eggs; however, one of the most interesting ones in the clip was the interaction of Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff.

The conversation between Strange and Wanda takes place in the woods, where they seem normally talking about their concepts of the multiverse. This particular scene was shown in the Spider Man: No Way Home film as one of the post-credits scenes. The scene hinted that Strange, facing challenges, seeks help from Wanda, and Wanda does reply about whatever she knows, which was interpreted as she helping Strange and on his side.

However, as noted by a user on Reddit named ‘u/LongjumpingTrainer38’, the conversation between Strange and Wanda is actually an illusion, as it was the same chat Wanda had while wearing the Scarlet Witch outfit and scolding Strange about him breaking the rules. This implies that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Villain is Wanda, and she had captured Strange and trapped him in his mirage.

It is no surprise that Wanda has used her power to trap someone in their minds, her oldest superpower in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the premiere Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda Villain used her powers to trap the Avengers in their memories and did some serious damage emotionally. Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, faced his fear of the unknown and tried to make the Ultron initiative successful.

The Scarlet Witch’s ability was forgotten in the Avengers as she chose good over evil and joined the Avengers team. The ability was shown again in the WandaVision series, and this ability was in her for a long period of time, because of which Wanda and Vision were a dangerous couple to entangle with.

Wanda was shown tapping into dark magic in the series, and she continued learning about dark magic from WandaVision villain, Agatha Harkness. Along with that, there was no one to stop her from the choice and practice of evil, because of which she lost her husband, Vision, and her kids. With no one to help her out of the dark side, she fully embraced it.

It is unknown how exactly Scarlet Witch Villain was able to get her hands on Doctor Strange, but it might link back to Doctor Strange interfering with the multiverse in the Spider Man: No Way Home, which may be pissed her off.

On the basis of a scathing dialogue said by Wanda in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer, she says that she doesn’t appreciate how Doctor Strange is hailed as a hero, but when she breaks the rule, Wanda is cast as a Villain.
