Rokka No Yuusha Season 2 is highly in demand but what are its chances?

In the summer of 2015, the season was fully packed with great shows like Overlord, One Punch Man, Dragon Ball Super, and more. But there was an anime that few people talked about, i.e., Rokka No Yuusha or Heroes of the Six flowers.

It’s understandable why the show didn’t get notoriety. It looked very generic with a story that felt like we’ve seen it multiple times already in other fantasy shows. Sadly, this presumption meant Rokka No Yuusha was doomed to fail before it made the cut.

Those who did watch this fantasy-mystery anime based on light novel writings by Ishio Yamagata can attest to how well executed, and unique the show came to be.

The anime is about a  group of warriors who were chosen by the gods of faith to become the Braves of the six flowers an elite team tasked with fighting and defeating the demon God.

The plot follows Adlet Mayer who professes himself as the strongest man in the world and gets selected as a brave.He meets Nashetanya Loei Piena Augustra, princess of  Piana kingdom and a fellow brave, the two embark on a journey to defeat the demon god. 

The two also intend to meet up with fellow braves however, when they arrive there is one imposter among them as the braves are only supposed to be six.

Can they find out who is the fake brave and how does this process impact the characters is the central plot of the show.

ROKKA NO YUUSHA SEASON 2 RENEWAL STATUS

The first season of Rokka No Yuusha ran from 4th July 2015 to 19th September 2015 for 12 episodes.

As of writing, there is no update from the showrunners or author for the renewal of Rokka No Yuusha season 2.

Considering season one premiered seven years ago, the chances of renewal also look relatively bleak. There are many other contributing factors apart from the long hiatus, which we will look at in the following sections, but for now, Rokka No Yuusha will not be renewed for a second season.

With that being said, many anime has received renewals after a long gap, and if a miracle does happen, we can expect Rokka No Yuusha Season 2 release date to be mid-2023.

ROKKA NO YUUSHA LIGHT NOVEL AND MANGA CATCHUP

Rokka No Yuusha light novel is written by Ishio Yamagata and illustrated by Miyagi. It began serialization in Super Dash Bunko on 25th August 2011, and six volumes were released on 24th July 2015.

Rokka No Yuusha light novel is rated 8.2/10, ranked #348 with 13k members on MyAnimeList.

The series has been adapted into a manga illustrated by Kei Toru, which began publishing in Super Dash and Go in April 2012. The Rokka No Yuusha Season 2 manga has been collected into four volumes, which began on 25th October 2012 till 24th July 2015.

Rokka No Yuusha manga is rated 7.1/10, ranked #6338 with 4k members on MyAnimeList.

One of the biggest reasons Rokka No Yuusha won’t be renewed is the poor sales record of the light novels and disc units. The light novel only sold 15,000 copies of each volume, while only 460 Blu-ray disc units were sold.

Both the selling values are incredibly below par, directly affecting the creator s’ pocket and eventually the show.

Furthermore, the light novel stopped after volume six, and the mangaka took an indefinite break without an update on his return. The anime only adapted the first volume of the light novel; hence the source of material wasn’t a problem, but with fewer profit margins, it was always inevitable that Rokka No Yuusha would not be renewed.

ROKKA NO YUUSHA SEASON 2 PLOT

In the first season’s final episode, “The time to reveal the answer,” we reach the culminating point wherein the imposter is revealed. Adlet is relieved of the suspect after he presents the theory of the death of Riura, whose killer is the seventh brave.

  Adlet points the finger at Maura, but Chamot cancels his deductions and reveals the tablets she and Hans retrieved. Two tablets are presented, and in the second one, we see blood drops and a clear indication that it has been used to activate the barrier.

The group deduces that whoever sent them to the temple is the fake brave, and Flamie recognizes Nachentaya, the wolf among the sheep. The latter accepts the accusation and confirms she is the imposter.

She reveals how her goal is to unite humans and friends so they can live peacefully. She also states that it would take half a million sacrifices before achieving the goal, but it would be worth it.

This angers the six brave who are to launch an attack, but Nachetanya escapes by melting into a slime-like state. Our heroes return to the temple and plan their attack on the Demon Lord as Adlet asks the troops to reactivate the barrier.

The biggest twist comes to inform of Rolonia, the childhood friend of Adlet, who appears and claims she is also brave. This revelation confuses our heroes as they head up to find the demon king.

If the anime is renewed for a second season, it will begin by covering the light novel’s second volume. The second volume is the Bud of Eternity Arc, which details the adventures of braves, including the seventh.

They travel to Howling Vineland, where a basecamp is a setup on the demon s’ territory. They are greeted by the fiend s’ leader Tgurneu, and a battle begins as the mystery around the seventh brave still looms on. If the studio does release Rokka No Yuusha trailer, it would be interesting to see which narrative the Rokka No Yuusha Season 2 takes up.

CONCLUSION

Fans of the show would be disappointed with a lack of renewal, and considering how season one ended, it would be nice to know the whole mystery behind the seventh brave.
