One incident shown where Ciri was possessed by Deathless Mother named Voleth Meir uses her power to get herself home which was on another sphere where Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer saw the Wild Hunt calling Ciri to join their force for a brief moment. And The White Flame was revealed at the end of Season 2, who is the emperor of Nilfgaard, who was shown in season 1 as the father of Ciri.
The Witcher Season 3, the upcoming season, will pick up from the time where the whole Continent is coming after Ciri, and Geralt and Yennefer are trying to think of ways to protect her. The reason everyone is coming after Ciri is because she has exceptional power inside, and everyone wants to use Ciri for their advantage.

Lauren S. Hissrich revealed that she doesn’t want the plot to go beyond the witcher books which summarizes that story will be based on the witcher books.
The showrunner reveals that the witcher season 3 will include a lot of action. She said, “There’s tons of action, there’s tons of things that are just jaw dropping when you get to them. So we’re really letting that lead our storytelling. Season 3, for example, takes place on a very, very small timeline. Not a lot of time passes, because it doesn’t need to.”
And the lead cast actor, Henry Cavill too, wants the show to follow the books as he was already a fan of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books before the series started. Considering the desires of Henry Cavill and the fans, there is a high chance that the witcher season 3 will be more book accurate, and there will be fewer modifications in the series plot from the books.
The Witcher Season 3 Release Date
The audience is hoping that The Witcher Season 3 will be released more quickly than the witcher season 2. Season 2 was released after a long wait of two whole years in December 2021 because of the global pandemic.
The Showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, spoke that the Witcher Season 3’s script work is almost over, but there is a lot of work to be done. According to the showrunner, fans are in the thought that there can be a long wait for the witcher season 3.
However, a fansite for Witcher called Redanian Intelligence, which has always given correct information, mentions that the filming of the witcher season 3 will start from March 2022. The site revealed that the shooting would be needing a time of 6 months which infer that by August 2022, the filming part should be closed. And gives us hope that season 3 will be released before 2023 spring or the earliest possible.

The upcoming witcher season 3 is expected to be released earlier than season 2. However, there is a high chance that the witcher season 3 release might take a long time because the global pandemic is still present.
The main work of scripts is over, and the filming of the season 3 story will start from March 2022, and which might take six months to complete the filming. Fans are hoping that the witcher season 3 will be released at the starting of 2023 or possibly before the spring. With a lot of work is left, the trailer for the witcher season 3 hasn’t been broadcasted yet.
The Witcher Season 3: Future Seasons
The Witcher Season 3 is in the process, and there is no information about season 4 or other future projects. But it won’t be surprising if the next project is already given a greenlight. In one interview, the showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, talked about her plan that she had mapped out the seven seasons of the Witcher Series, but it will be open to modifications.

Another project will be released in the future, a prequel series on the Witcher named The Witcher: Blood Origin. This series is set 1200 years before Netflix’s Witcher Series, which will entail the creation of the first Witcher. This project is due to be released in the year 2022.
