Spy Classroom Anime has finally got its premiere date!
If you have been a long-time anime fan, it will come as no surprise that the two words’ Spy’ and ‘Classroom’ have been frequently used. From hit series like Spy x Family to Assassination Classroom and Classroom of the Elite, it appears to be a trend.
Spy has always been a theme that has captivated many series with its suspenseful approach and storylines. The characters are put into this environment are well-written and often face a thrilling either-or situation.
On the other hand, Classroom is one of the most popular settings in anime, having limitless potential pairings ranging from romance, horror, a slice of life, and isekai.So it was about time the two separate titles came together to bring a new series called Spy Classroom.
Spy Classroom is adventure series based on the light novel writings of Takemachi and illustrations by Tomari.
Takemachi s’ light novel and manga series were in contention to be turned into an anime series which delighted its readers. An anime adaption was recently confirmed post which fans of the light novel and manga series were wondering, when will the Spy Classroom anime premiere?

WHAT IS THE SPY CLASSROOM ANIME RELEASE DATE?
On 13th March 2022, the Spy Classroom Twitter account tweeted the official confirmation of Spy Classroom anime adaption. The announcement was followed by a key visual of one main character, i.e., Lilly.
The Spy Classroom premiered on January 5, 2022, and as of February 28, 2023, seven episodes have been aired with the 8th episode set to air on March 2, 2023. Fans of the show have been eagerly tuning in each week to follow the heartwarming story of Yuuichi and Anri and their special bond.
Total Episode will be 12 and last episode will air on March 30, 2023.
UPDATE : Spy Classroom Episode 8 has been delayed due to COVID. The new air date will be March 2, 2023 by the creators later.
On 14th October 2022, the Spy Classroom Twitter account confirmed the Spy Classroom anime release date as January 2023.Furthermore, Spy Classroom Anime trailer was also released, featuring Sora Amamiya’s Lily, the leader of the Lamplight spy team.
Studio Feel is confirmed as the production studio who have developed series like Dagashi Kashi and My Teen Romantic SNAFU Too.

SPY CLASSROOM LIGHT NOVEL AND MANGA CATCHUP
Spy Classroom light novel is written by Takemachi and illustrated by Tomari. It began serialization in the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint on 18th January 2020.
The light novel is collected into seven volumes, with the latest issue coming out on 8th July 2020. Additionally, three short stories have also been released since 19th March 2021.

Spy Classroom manga adaption is written by Takemachi and illustrated by Kaname Seu. It began serialization in Monthly Comic Alive magazine from 27th May 2020 to 27th April 2022. The manga has been collected into three volumes, with the latest issue coming out on 20th July 2022.

On 7th September 2021, the official Twitter account confirmed that Spy Classroom had sold over 500,000 physical and digital copies.
Spy Classroom won the 32nd Fantasia Prize Award, and In KonoRano 2021 edition, Spy Classroom won 2nd place in the light novel ranking.
Meanwhile, illustrator Tomari was ranked #7th in the top illustrator ranking.
In KonoRano 2022 edition, Spy Classroom won 13th place in the light novel ranking.Tomari won the 12th place, and Klaus won the 16th in illustrators and Male characters rankings, respectively.
SPY CLASSROOM PLOT
Spy Classroom is set in a world where war has taken over proceedings and government is in an espionage scrum with each other. Wars are often won with armies and weapons; however, it’s proven inefficient since informational wars have come into play.
Having intel on the opposition has become of paramount importance, and having this power over the enemy can change the tides of war.
The change in warfare has resulted in the urgent need for highly skilled and talented spies across the nation. When it comes to spies, there is none better than Klaus, who has a 100% success rate in his missions.
A decade after the World War, Klaus is assigned a new mission with a 99% chance of failure. To make matters worse, he is given a team of eight rookie spy girls picked from different facilities to aid him in the mission.
The eight girls have no prior experience in a mission thus, Klaus is against the odds from the beginning. Klaus has to train them in just one month, but it’s not a simple task since he isn’t the best teacher either.
Can the world-renowned Spy complete the improbable mission with the assistance of his rookie girls’ squad is the show s’ central plot.
We have yet to receive an official confirmation on how many volumes will be adapted in the first season.
